Ping Rapture

Summary:
I bought these new and had them fitted to me with the intention that these would be the last set that I ever own. They are great clubs for sure.
I always had trouble setting them up though and that was something that I never got used to. Also, I developed a draw that I attribute to the off-set.
Over the last 2 seasons my iron game slowly eroded to the point where I couldn't hit a green and I attribute that to these Irons, their set-up and the lack of feedback encouraging poor swing mechanics.
After selling them, I bought some blades and immediately got my old game back.
Definitely for the game-improvement player, but I wouldn't recommend them for good golfers.

2008 Ping Rapture Irons

Summary:
I just came in from hitting balls in the back yard long enough to RAVE about my Ping Rapture irons! After inheriting many sets of clubs from my Dad over the years, I finally decided to get my own set of Top-of-the-Line clubs. I've always liked Ping's but like most, I never could afford them. Now with eBay, I was able to get last year's top-of-the line Rapture's (like NEW) w/ graphite shafts at about 1/2 price of new. I couldn't be happier!! They came upgraded with Golf Pride DD2 Black & Yellow grips, ( which really feel good!). I'm 52 years old, in athletic shape, and I doubt I've hit 50 buckets of balls in all my years. (Less than one per year..). So it's no surprise that I really lacked consistency-I could never deliver the club head to the ball on a regular basis. But now with my new Raptures, it's like I just-can't-miss!! With just a little work on my swing and a little time hitting balls into my net, I've hit more satisfying shots in the past week than I have in my whole life!
Even choking-down with an easy 3/4 swing, it sounds like I'm setting off M-80 firecrackers in my back yard when they hit the back-stop! The only thing I might not be satisfied with is that the Pitching & sand wedge's seem to have so much flange bounce, that it's tough to open the club face and slide the club under without skulling it. I'll be trying out Ping's iWedge and Titleist Volkey wedge's soon to see if that helps.
Otherwise, I couldn't be happier. I'm hitting them a ton!!

ping rapture

Summary:
Just bought the last set of Raptures at golfers warehouse. These clubs are awesome. They hit the ball extremely high and just as long as any other club i've ever hit. They are very straight with not alot of workability. But if your after workability, you shouldn't be looking at these sticks. I would highly recommend these clubs to mid-high handicappers. Great clubs, great construction but then again what would you expect from Ping. Best part is its made in America.

Rapture

Summary:
I was playing at least once a week before.
However, I've been so busy now, and I play only 1 or 2 times a month. So, I decided to change my irons to "Super Game Improvement" model.
Sold i10, bought rapture.
My my my!
So sweet! I cannot shape the ball flight much, but go straight!
Playing golf will be more fan!
Rapture is the best irons I ever own.

Rapture w/Graphite

Summary:
If your in the market for accurate and forgiving irons, you need to check these out. They're pricey, but they're in line with Callaway and Taylormade's higher end iron sets. You pay for technology but it can make a difference.

I like that the swingweight(inside emblem)is directly behind the face with the Pings and can be changed to your swingweight preference by Ping.

I could not believe how soft these feel when struck and the consistency I've seen using these for one season. I play the regular flex graphite shafts.

Very forgiving and though they have good mass, they do not feel heavy or chunky like some irons I've hit.

I agree with previous reviewers on laser accuracy, as I have seen this with my irons 7i-Gap into the green. I've also choked down and with a 3/4 quarter swing dialed them in on tough or well protected pin placements with confidence.

I've tried, owned and played many sets over the years, and without a doubt, the most accurate I've played are the Rapture irons. I'm a bogey golfer, sometimes dipping into the eighties, but I've won a fair number of "closest to the pin" playing these in my weekly golf league.

Had been playing Cobra FP Irons with regular flex graphite before these, which were good, but would seem to struggle at times. Probably just me but the club felt light when trying to get through the fringe or rough.

Have liked the quality of Ping's over the years owning Ping Zing2 and Ping I3+, with the I3+ being better, but was having trouble handling steel shafts later on. I'm in my 50's and steel shafts tend to aggravate my golfer's elbow, when playing golf on consecutive days, so I use graphite in my irons. Wedge's I still prefer steel for consistency.

These won't correct terrible swings, but they can reward good swings making them that much better IMHO. Really worth a look if your looking for consistency and forgiveness, and don't play that often like myself.

Customer Service:
Ping has always been very responsive when contacted about questions, specifications, etc. No issues here
