Model Reviewed: Powerbilt TPS 6.0
Summary: Many years ago when I was in the market for a game improvement iron I tried several of the "name" brands but none of them felt as good as the TPS 6.0. They are very forgiving and miss hits don't generally ruin the shot. I have noticed that the shorter irons get about 10 more yards than my previous set. I would very much like to get fitted for a more up to date set of irons but it will be tough to give up on these clubs considering the dirt cheap price I originally paid for them. You don't get the feedback from your shots like a forged blade but this is an excellent mid handicapper choice.

Summary: great bargain set. these clubs are very durable and very forgiving. the medium flex was nice and stiff...not whippy in the least.
only nock might be no feel...just built for forgiveness all the way
great little set if you can still get your hands on one.

Summary: Bought these in firm steel years ago when they came out. Played very well and lowered my hdcp to 11. But like most golfers I HAD to try the next new or "better" thing. Put them aside and tried Pings...V Foils...Armour 845's...Callaway X-14...All good clubs but I became erratic on distance and offline...hdcp went to 18...I dug out the TPS a few weeks ago...haven't had a double bogey in 4 rounds...distance is great as well as accuracy...The Sims Shock Relief System is awesome...Needless to say I'm hanging on to these...might even look for a back-up set on Ebay...
Summary: I used to have a set of these in steel and liked them. I just got a set of medium flex Sims Shock Relief graphite 3-PW. These graphite shafts were made by True Temper. I thought they'd be pretty good but they exceeded my expectations. I've played forged cavity backs and recently played some TaylorMade rac OS graphites. They were all nice clubs in their own way. However, these TPS 6.0 graphites are really special and stand alone. They combine game improvement with playability in a way I've never experienced. Powerbilt should bring these back. New technolgy and styling aside I'm not sure these can be surpassed by anything Ping, Callaway or TaylorMade has to offer, past or present. These Powerbilt TPS 6.0's with this graphite shaft are an iron for all time. Enough said!

Summary: This is one sweet set of irons. I don't think I have ever had a set that was so easy to hit great right from the get go.... Sure, maybe this set just happens to fit my swing, but I think it is much more likely that Powerbilt has a really great design. I have the Sensicore firm flex.... the ball just rips off of the face, long, straight and amazing forgiveness when required. I paid $140ish on Ebay for these brand new. If not the best deal out there, it is in the top very few! Powerbilt just does not command the "jazz" name factor, for whatever reason... good. I have tried so many irons I know a GREAT deal when it drops by. They simply do not come any better for the 5 hdcp or higher. These irons are just plain fun to hit... I felt so confident on every swing, had a great time out there, and had a huge wad of greenbacks left in my wallet from the Callaway VFT's I sold to some slick ear ego boy... HA!!
