Model Reviewed: TaylorMade R7 irons
Summary: I've tried them all and thought I would buy the new Burner irons but these old R7 irons turned out to be much more precise and just as long. Had MX25's before frm Mizuno but work less workable and shorter. But these R7 irons while there are still some left on internet. Cheers

Summary: I fully intended to purchase either the 2009 Burners or the Cally X-22s. However, after hitting dozens of balls with the above models plus the Ping G10 and Titleist AP1, the far less expensive R-7 was clearly the better club for me.
It is moderately forgiving, but has a very generous sweetspot. The idstance was equal to the Burners and superior to other irons, but the distance control on the irons was very tight.
Be sure to be custom fit, shot dispersal was noticeably tighter after adjustment. Only possible drawback is the irons are very light, and you need discipline to resist jumping on them. However, that does come in handy if you are between clubs and prefer a full swing.
Summary: these irons are incredible, the ball jumps off the face, love looking down at them, can't wait to hit an iron shot had to get stiff shafts, love em!!

Summary: Bought a set of R7's about six months ago to replace my Ping i3's, which were getting a little long in the tooth.
I was looking at a number of different clubs, but the salesman convinced me that the R7's were the next step beyond Pings. And he was right! They're still a game improvement club, but they certainly go farther (probably one club longer than the Pings) with the same amount of control and forgiveness. And Lord knows I need forgiveness.
I did buy the approach and sand wedges with the set, but ended up giving them to the kids - just too much mass in the heads for my taste. I'm sticking with my Cleveland CG10 wedges.
If you're looking for dependable, forgiving irons with some good distance, give the R7's a try.

Model Reviewed: Taylormade R7 Irons
Summary: All I can say is WOW!!! I have played forged clubs all my life and for the first time found a set of cavity backs that you can actually move the ball left to right AND right to left. Very good feel and response off the club head. Sweet spot is a bit larger than forged so the forgivness is better. 1st full round with them shot 75 and hit 13 greens! What a confidence booster!
