Titleist Scotty Cameron Circa 62 No. 3 Putters Review

Titleist Scotty Cameron Circa 62 No. 3

Description
Confidence inspired by superior performance. Craftsmanship as a full-blown passion. Tradition and innovation blended as one. The Circa '62 line is all of this—and then some. With respect for the heritage and art of putting, Scotty Cameron introduces a line with subtle influences from the early Handmade, Classic, and Scottsman families, but with its own unique flourishes. The Circa '62 No. 3, with its flat-front plumber’s neck and a head that undergoes hours of milling for a smoothness that exudes quality, pushes performance and aesthetics to the next level. The high toe helps to keep the putter soled at address, making the No. 3 as precise as it is pleasing to the eye. The head’s deep, gun-blued finish gives the Circa '62 No. 3—and the entire line for that matter—a mark of distinction found only in genuine Scotty Cameron putters.

scotty cameron circa 62 no. 3

Summary:
Originally I bought the studio select newport because the shop didn't have the newport 2. I didn't know that the newport did not have the guide groove. Strangely, I was putting much better and my distance control improved immensely. Before the tournament I decided to switch the putter to newport 2 b/c I thought the guide line on the newport 2 would improve my game even further. What a huge mistake that was. I couldn't line up straight, because the line was actually distracting me instead of helping me. And the newport 2 felt too bulky and heavy. I couldn't feel the ball at all on short putts and would hit the ball too hard way passed the hole. I went back to the shop to exchange my newport 2 back to newport, but they were all out of the newport, but then the circa 62 no3. caught my eye. I tried it and absolutely love it. It felt right from the moment I held it. And this putter doesn't have the annoying guide groove to distract me. Plus, this putter is a carbon steel rather than stainless steel. it's a softer metal and 10g lighter then the newport putters but still it feels well balanced and I am back to making burdies.

Circa 62 no. 3

Summary:
I am not a fan.

The putter has a great look, feel and feedback. However, it does poorly since the one dot on top does not help in alignment, causing a loss in confidence.

I note that I mostly shoot between 80-84 and I may be underqualified to be using this - but then most pros prefer the Studio Select rather than this, probably for the same reason.

scotty cameron circa 62 charcoal mist #3 putter

Summary:
Of all the many, many and expensive putters I have had, this is by far the best. The milled carbon steel gives it a wonderful feel, balance is superb, and the one dot alignment actually works better for me than other forms. I have putted significantly better (after about 30 rounds) with this Scotty probably because it gives me a sense of confidence, especially for distance control.

Circa 62 No.3 Gun Metal Blue

Summary:
Owning a Scotty seemed like a big jump for someone who putts poorly (regular 3-putts). Anyway, long story short, I like the feel of the putter on course after using a fren's scotty and decided to get one myself.

Got this beauty from eBay, brand new at a good price. Although 35 inches may be a tad too long for a mid-sized Asian, for some strange reasons, my putting stroke felt smooth and my lag putting improved.

Bottom line is that it improved my putting. Despite just having one dot as alignment aid. I was able to align the putter to my line very nicely. My last round was the first time I used it, I only had one 3-putt. This is testament to how effective this putter is for me. Try it out yourself and buy from eBay!

Customer Service:
none so far. Noticed that if you buy the current model, there is no divot tool. A pity. I got the one that is one season back, it comes with yellow headcover and divot too... way cooool!
