Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: Adidas Tour Metal Summary: I would have to concur with the previous review. I bought these shoes last year. It was my first crack at Adidas. Over the past dozen years of my golf experience, I've tried Nike (crap-all of them), Reebok(not bad), Etonics(good bang for your buck), and of course Foot Joy(the best). I was prepared to drop $200 for a pair of FootJoys, but I saw the Tour Metals, and thought, heck if it's good enough for Retief, I should give it a fair shake. The fit was perfect, no breaking in period required. Great support, and traction, and reasonably light weight. What more could you ask for?!
But then on my first round this year, as I was walking down the 3rd fairway of a local muni, I felt moisture on my left foot. On the 4th Tee box, we had a bit of a wait, took off the shoe, and damn, my left toe was soaked! I was so disappointed. Anyhow, I returned them to Golftown, and Adidas was not very quick with rectifying the situation.
In short Golftown, ended up giving me full credit for the shoes. They offered me the same pair, but after my experience and seeing that they are now 1/2 the price I paid for them originally, I took the $200 and used it on some PUMA GTX. I'll give them a try this coming long weekend and post a review next week. Customer Service: As per my review notes above, Adidas really dropped the ball. Similar Products Used: Nike Zoom Air, Foot Joy Dry Joys, Reebok, Etonic, see review for critiques.
