Merit Golf Zero Bounce Wedges Review

Merit Golf Zero Bounce

Description
Zeroº Bounce - Positions the leading edge down at the ball, even on tight lies. Wedges with bounce cause the leading edge to sit above the ground and are more difficult to use. Blunt-Beveled Leading Edge - This prevents the club from digging. "M" Tempered Carbon Steel - For a soft responsive feel. Zeroº Bounce™ wedges are not only heat treated they are also tempered to Merit's specifications. Pre-rusted Oxid Finish - Generates maximum spin, because the scoring lines are not filled with chrome and paint. They are made to the maximum width & depth allowed by the USGA.

Model Reviewed:
52, 56, & 60 degree wedges

Summary:
First, these wedges do have bounce, despite what the drawings of the club on the website show. In fact, I have bladed more shots with these wedges than I did with my previous wedges, so needless to say I am not too thrilled. Secondarily, the finish on the entire leading edge of the 56 degree wedge wore down to the metal after hitting 25 balls at the range (never used prior to that point). I understand the finish is supposed to wear off, I just didn't think it would be so quick in doing so.
One bit of good news: I shot my lowest score ever playing these clubs, but only because I forced myself to leave my approach 110 - 120 yards out so I could use my regular pitching wedge. I plan on replacing the merit wedges with a better (and more honest) wedge.

Customer Service:
I emailed to ask if I could return the wedges and have yet to hear back.

Merit Zero Bounce 56* and 60*

Summary:
Great Wedges!!! Everything that Merit claims is true...these are the best wedges on the market, bar none! I have played every wedge that you can name and these are more accurate, produce a greater holding spin (that doesn't eat the cover of top level balls i.e. PRO V1's, X's, Hogan Apex, etc..) Both the 56 and 60 are very playable, easy to hit from hard pan, rough, and from the sand. They are the reason that I have went from shooting in the low 90's to lately being able to have chances at 5-6 more birdie putts per round. I will never play another wedge.
