Summary: Building clubs for the last 10 years has allowed me to fully appreciate the engineering and artistry that goes into a set of these wedges. I personally use these clubs because I have been unable to match their playability as a club builder. My favorite of the 4 is unquestionably the X-wedge at 64 degrees. I can honestly say this one club saves me 2-3 strokes per round on the courses here in the northwest. The wedges are rather harsh feeling with range balls, but anyone playing a good middle to high-end ball will not notice this. There are several points I would like to make about these wedges that point to their superior playability. When they are used in conjunction with the Pelz scoring system (per book ‘Short Game Bible’) you will improve your short game skills to a level beyond belief. This set has several things going for them that are collectively unique. Each club in the set has a shaft flex different from the next. Each club has a different length. Each club head has a different loft and lie angle. Each club head is forged and has a harden insert face that reduces wear and increases spin. Each club head has a different groove configuration. Each club head has a different bounce. The grips are longer than standard to allow you to grip down on the shaft when necessary. Without a doubt these are the best set of wedges a golfer can put in their bag period. At $130 each they aren’t cheap, but all I can say is “you get what you pay for”.

Summary: Many moons ago Ernie Vaderson made the original Snake Eyes Wedges (hosels marked with "EV"). Those were, at the time, the best wedges ever made. The only trouble was that the groves eventually wore out. These Pelz wedges are the best wedges made today, and to combat the problem with groove wear, it looks like Pelz has put a VERY hard insert in the faces. Unfortunately, that insert makes them feel really harsh even on a purely struck shot. With that single complaint, I'd have to say that these are GREAT clubs. If you want your wedges to feel "like butter" when you hit them you won't like these (I'd recommend "Feel" wedges for those folks). But, if you want some great looking and playing wedges these are the ones.

Summary: Next to a great putter, the best investment you can make in lowering your scores. Excellent fit and finish and incredible playability. After reading and re-reading Pelz's Short Game Bible, I set out to put together a set of four wedges that met the criteria he established.... after messing around with some modified CG-10s / 588s, I found the Pelz wedges and never looked back. I've always had a decent short game but these clubs immediately cut 2 or 3 strokes from my game. Feel with the long Pelz grips is incredible. The confidence you get in knowing you can execute good shots from any spot on the infield and deal with all sorts of pin placements adds to the game in a big way. Delivery was inside 48 hours with custom options. I can't imagine I'll ever need customer service... these things are built to play a lot. I couldn't be more satisfied.
Customer Service: Ordering was easy and delivery was super fast. No other CS required.

Summary: The absolute best wedges I've ever used. These things are solid! Great spin, distance control, and awsome feel for touch shots. It seems like I'm hitting the ball close every time I pull one of these things out. I used to play Vokeyes; they just don't compare.
Customer Service: Not used.

Summary: Custom ordered a set from Pelz Golf because I was attracted to their frequency matching (i.e., if you can hit one, you can hit them all) and their very distinctive looks. Like most Pelz products, these don’t look like anything else in their category.
It wasn’t long before I could hit numerous shots with these wedges. Honestly, these wedges aren’t super spectacular at any one aspect of wedge play. However, they are pretty good at EVERYTHING. Eidolon, for example, has much more spin; the Vokey’s feel better during driving shots from the fairway; and my old 588’s were almost automatic from any kind of greenside sand. However, I had a hard time with touch pitches using the Eidolons, my Vokey’s were top performers in only certain kinds of sand, and my 588s just felt flat from the fairway.
These Pelz wedges can’t outperform any of these others wedges in what those wedges do best, but they do everything well – which is a lot more than I can say about the wedges I’ve tried to date. Sand shots, chipping, pitching, from the fairway, from the rough… these wedges do it all.
If I had unlimited money and could carry 9 or 10 different wedges, then I probably wouldn’t carry these. But as I don’t and I can’t, these wedges are simply the best you can buy.
Customer Service: UNBELIEVABLE. I custom ordered 3 wedges and had them in my hand 36 hours later. Completely exceeded my expectations.
