Braid Hill Golf Course - Golf courses, Edinburgh,

Braid Hill Golf Course - Golf courses, Edinburgh,

DESCRIPTION

This is the premier golf course owned by Edinburgh city council and you won't find a better pubicly owned course in the UK.

While the Braids may be fairly short at 5700 yards the course is set on a hill that will challenge even the most skillful of golfers. A miss placed shot here will end up in the gorse bush or rolling down one of the many hills.

The views from this course are pretty hard to match with vistas over Edinburgh castle and on a good day right the way to Ben Lomond.

At £20 for weekend fees you can't beat it for value either.

Shoots in the 80s

This course is so good that it's stopping me joining a private golf club. Other than the most exclusive clubs in Edinburgh there is no better course that I've played.

Fair enough, it get's very very busy at weekends during the summer because it's a council course but I think that's a small price to pay for such a bargain round of golf. Plus even when it is busy it will still not take more than 4 hours.

The views are second to none and the challenge of the course is all about your approach play.

Customer Service

All very down to earth. Not lie a lot of snobish places.
