Shoots in the 70s

I have recently moved to the Huntsville area and have tried out several different courses and absolutely LOVE the RTJ courses at Hampton Cove. I especially enjoy the River course...although there is a lot of water (hence the name) I am rarely bothered by it. The Highlands is also a very nice course surrounded by a beautiful community. There is also a fun 18 hole Par 3 course that can be a lot of fun and also good practice.

Customer Service

There is a great Pro Shop stocked with everything you need to get out on the course, as well as all the amenities of any private club.

From the white tees, about 6000 yards, the Highlands course is a good test. There are traps, water, and ditches/creeks to avoid. If you hit it short and straight, you can have a good time. If you get out of the fairway, you pay. Many of the holes have elevated greens and some require a good knowledge of the course to avoid problems you can't see from the hitting area. The greens putt true.

It is a good challenge of length and control.

This is one of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail sites located in Huntsville. It opened in 1992 and has two very nice courses in the Highlands and River. The Highlands is built around a very nice community whereas the River doesn't have any houses along the course nor any bunkers. Each are very well maintained and have excellent bent grass greens. The River is a bit harder due to elevated greens that are very large and undulating and it has quite a bit of water hence the name. I've been playing each since they opened and enjoy them both immensely. Each are very challenging and alot of fun to play. With each course on the Trail it is important to play the tees they recommend based on your handicap. If you don't, it can be a long day! I typically play the orange tees on each which are around 6600 yards.

Customer Service

Tee times are very easy to make and the
customer service is excellent!

driving range is well maintained and has
several greens you can hit to to get warmed
up.
