Incredible course, everything about it is great. I have played all the top courses in the valley and this is my favorite. The greens are incredible, it rained and hailed on us halfway through and afterwards they were still fast.

The Dinosour Mountain course at this 2 course resort is the best course in central Arizona, Period. I've played most of the high end Scottsdale courses and this track is better than them all. My only complaint is the lack of quality practice area. Mats and the small driving range was disappointing. The greens are lighting fast and the views are incredible. The par 4 4th hole is my favorite golf hole anywhere.

Played Dinosaur Mtn on Saturday off an internet special for 87.50 and the course is worth it at twice the price. In my wildest dreams, I wouldn't have thought you could have these views on a golf course. Tough course! I'm usually in the 90's, my buddy is usually in the 80's and we both went over 100. He was having a particularly horrible day and he still thought it the best course he's ever played. This course will frustrate the hell out of you though, so if you're looking for some relaxing golf, look elsewhere. It plays plenty long from the black tees, no need to try the gold.

Customer Service

Little tough to find the beer cart. Stock up when you can. Nice halfway house.

Unless your a scratch to 5 handicap, take a word of advice....Don't play the back tees. The card says its only 6700 yards...Wrong. With all the elevation changes, plays much longer. With that said, by far the best course I've ever played. Just the geography alone with take your breath away. Dinosaur Mountain is mainicured like it was a national landmark. Played for $44 in mid september. For that price I'd play it everyday. Par 3's are a lot of fun. Huge elevation changes. One was 226 yards downhill about 80 feet. Unreal. Bring your "A" game, or your history

Customer Service

Outstanding. They will tell you, if your a certain handicap play the correct tees. They are right....listen to them.

Mixed feelings about this one. Agree that the views / geography are outstanding -until you start getting into the homes/condos. Loved driving off the mountain top onto the roofs of two homes just off the fairway (?hole number 5 or 6).(Both homes appeared empty and were for sale .. bet they get hit 50 times each day). Course condition was great. Wonderful greens and extremely challenging layout. Too bad they felt a need to cram in all of the houses. Have played Spyglass, Spanish Bay, etc and this one could have (almost) been in that class. Agree that you should be at least a 15 to enjoy this one and not make those around you suffer.

Customer Service

Dude in the pro shop had 0 personality but everyone else had a smile. Starter was cool.

I just returned from a spectacular 4 day golf excursion, courtesy of my wife, for my birthday. We played 6 courses in 4 days: Talking Stick, Las Sendas, Sun Ridge Canyon, Eagle Mountain, Wildfire and Gold Canyon (Dinosaur). Please take the time to read all my reviews.

GOLD CANYON - Dinosaur Course

Very rarely do you get the opportunity to play a course like the Dinosaur course. The views were SPECTACULAR. Every Tee box was better than the one before. The course conditions were excellent, with smooth fairways and fast greens.

The service was also very good. We were very well treated by the Dinosaur staff, and the green fee was great; $55 for twilight(2:30pm) on a Friday afternoon.

This is a great course. The ultimate combination of incredible views and a hard, strategic layout. You won't believe the scenes of the mountains and the desert. I played there twice, once before they put in the new nine and once after. First time, they had just got their annual rain storm and the desert was in bloom. It was like heaven. The new nine, (put in about three or four years ago) was the best thing they could have done, as it put a full 18 holes in the mountains. It is a very hard course, but for some reason, last time there I shot my then career round of 76. I was so relaxed and happy just being there, that the shots were flowing. If you play smart, you can score and if you score you will never forget it. I dont know about now, but when I played a few years ago, they gave you a bag tag and a yardage book, which is invaluable. No doubt about it, with the world class location, this is a must play.

This course was unbelievable. This course was extremely hard for me even though I am an above average golfer. The greens were tricky and fast. Local course knowledge is the key to play well on this course. The course was in great condition and everything was maintained very well. A must play for any avid golfer, but remember to bring plenty of balls. This course might be a little to hard for golfers over a 15 handicap.

"Dinosaur Mountain":
This is good! Every hole looks like a living postcard. From the Blue tees the card says it's 6000 yds, but it plays like 6500. It takes about 220 yds of carry from these "middle" tees to reach all fairways. Many dramatic elevation changes. All fairways and greens were immaculate and very fast.
This course is very difficult so don't bother coming here unless you got game! For those no worse than low 90's, this is a real adventure. You have got to play this!

NOTE: my value rating is based upon what I payed ($79).

Customer Service

Tee times were made via internet a month previous. No problems.

ohh weee. they should have a sign that say "no one over a 15 handicap allowed". they have several tees named after animals which is cute. but the course is a BEAR! there are really only about 5 holes where a 15+ handicapper can pull the river out on-everything else should be 3 wood or iron. very hilly and greens roll true. need lots of balls. coupled with the heat-you don't want to look off in the cacti for your balls
