Shoots in the 80s

I’ve always enjoyed this course. Each time I’ve played it, over the past five years, it’s been in very good to excellent condition. Recent rains may have challenged the grounds crew but they were up to it and the result was nothing less than superb. This par 71 course has nothing truly dramatic. However, the surrounding mountains, desert terrain and flora, eye-pleasant residences, and consistently fine conditions make for an enjoyable round. This is not a target-golf desert course nor is it solely traditional. Desert, water and an abundance of sand bunkers insist on accurate shots. Unlike many courses in the area, the sand is, generally, soft and playable. The greens, usually, are darn fast but, this day, they were average in speed and excellent in consistency. You really have to view them from many angles for an accurate read. Although not the ultimate challenge for scratch players, we 15’s can have a good time, appreciate the professional and friendly staff, watch the roadrunners, bunnies and lizards, and be pleased with the value.

Shoot in the 70s

This course is kept in good condition and sits up next to the Superstition mountains. The views are beautiful in some parts, but the power lines are a bit intrusive (to the view, that is).

Many of the holes have a unique look and feel to them, and strategy comes into play on numerous holes. It's pretty flat, but they do well to spread out the holes and give the course some 'movement'. It isn't as magestic as it's neighbor (Gold Canyon), but the price doesn't take your breath away.
