An oasis in a wasteland of golf in South East Arizona. The course is well maintained, plus tucked in the mountains in a pleasant year-long climate. Hardly more than 90 in the summer, hardly less than 55 in the winter. The design is interesting, with an old-school WPA front nine (long, straight fairways for the most part). The back is short, and clearly designed to maximize scoring for a short, straight player: five holes will yield eagle putts for those willing to cut over the desert (and that includes the par 6 number 15--The Rattler--which plays far easier than its 700 yards). Greens run true, and putts can be made. Value is excellent, particularly for Arizona, though fees have risen above the previously rock-bottom, you-gotta-be-kidding-me levels of the past. Another plus: firm fairways couples with 5000 feet of elevation make 300 yard drives accessible for many. Remiss not to mention the fantastic Mexican food and cheap libations. Plan to stay for lunch.

Great course, kind of in the "Boonies". Not very challenging as long as you keep it in the fairway. Great greens and the fairways are in great condition. Good to play if you are in the Naco, AZ area.
