Shoots in the 80s

El Caro is an 18 hole executive course, and it definitely is not even close to being my favorite, but I'm reviewing it because it has a uniqueness. This course has multiple dog legs, many lake holes (at least 50%, most right in front of the green), and is almost completely surrounded by condos and apartments on most tees and fairways. There are no fences and the condos and apartments are EXTREMELY close to the golfers. It's like you are playing in their back yard.

Since I am a person who enjoys the beauty of large fairways and the great mountain views on many Arizona courses, El Caro was a very annoying and anxiety ridden course for me to play. However, days after I had played it, I realized it had a good purpose! This course forces you to think about your target intensely on every hole. I'm going to put this course in my regular rotation as my "boot camp" course to improve my game. I may not enjoy playing it, but I will enjoy BEATING IT some day.
