Shoots in the 100s

Played on 7/27/08. Upon checking in for my round, I was quite surprised that my rate of $75 for the round was now reduced to $25! They said that there was a special and not to tell the other three gentlemen in my group. Was it because I made reservations as a single ten days prior?? Who knows, but for $25, I'll play about anywhere. Staff was very pleasent and helpful. Clubhouse was nice and open, and the locker room neat and comfortable. For the most part, the course was in pretty good shape, though there were some pretty rough spots in and along most of the fairways. The greens were in super shape. The grounds crew will have there work cut out for them by the time the PGA's FBR Tournement rolls into town in October. Though it's desert golf, the fairways on the Raptor course are really wide. You have to hit a pretty bad tee shot to put it into the desert. Pace of play was o.k. The threesome I was with tended to take their time at times, but we did get around in about 4:10. Should have been less since we were the first group off. Pretty good views around the course. It's a borderline must play course only for the fact that there are several other outstanding courses in the area. But it is cool to play on the same track as the PGA Tour plays on. If I return to the area for more than three days, I will play this course again. I found the overall experience fun and enjoyable.

Customer Service

Everyone was nice and I was treated politly. The cart girl came by often and was also very nice. Everyone did a great job. Only thing bad, though the food and service was good, the prices at 'Phil's Grill' & 'The Quail Room'(?) were a bit on the pricey side. A chicken wrap sandwich with fries cost $14, a burger $15!! I understand it's a nice setting and all, but that's a bit much if you ask me.

Played the Talon course...not a bad hole in the entire 18. Impeccably manicured, great greens, it's now one of my top 5 courses I've played. Used a 2 for 1 coupon making it the best deal in Scottsdale.

Shoots in the 80s

WORST golf experience in Arizona. Show up early hoping for breakfast, but kitchen doesn't open until 11. Food from snack bar was awful. Course in very poor shape for price asked. Ball washers (when found) are empty, now towels or water offered. Course all tricked up. Some yardage markers innacurate (#15). Usually like Fazio courses, except when he tries to be RTJ Jr. like he did on Raptor. Totally unfair.
Spend your hard earned $$ somewhere else, and you will not feel ripped like we did.

Customer Service

Cart girl developed bad case of attitude when she didn't get the tip she expected. Could not buy food at turn because no one was working snack bar. To fat and greedy for me.

Shoots in the 90s

From the minute I got out of the car to the minute I left, the service was fantastic. I played Talon because of its reviews. It was a very tight course. Target golf with plenty of bunkers, deep bunkers! Emaculate in its condition. I played it in Late November. I showed up as a single (called the night before) had a 11:00am tee time but they gave me the option on the range of who I would like to tee off with. Allowing me more time on the range. Pace of play is great and never felt rushed once.

One of the finest I have ever played. Shot my best round EVER, so of course I'm a little bias. Great combination of required accuracy and long-ball. Greens and fairways immaculate.

Customer Service

Marvalous! Fresh fruit, ball markers, tees, and divot-fixersfor all for the taking at the first tee.

Shoot in the 80s

Both the Raptor and Talon courses rank in my top three courses I've ever played. The layout is challenging, the greens are fast and true, the facilities are teriffic and enough can't be said about the entire staff. I'm looking foward to a return trip asap.

Shoot in the 80s

Welcome to Arizona Golf at its finest. I highly recommend you play this course. Their are two tracks here, The Talon & Raptor. The Talon was used for the Anderson Consulting World Championships in the 90's and Raptor is where Tiger holds the Williams World Challenge. These courses are tight, long and target style. Don't go anywhere near the tips if you can't shoot 75 or lower. The greens are fast and roll very true. I played the Raptor in July and the course is lush and very well maintained.
