Course was just OK, nothing outstanding for the price you pay. The greens were PGA speed (around 13.5 on the stimp, according to the starter)- - - Why? I think Troon was just trying to prove a point since the Phoenix Open was going on that week over at the TPC of Scottsdale. There is no reason to have the greens rolling that fast for the average amateur.

Customer Service

Nothing wrong but nothing exceptional either.

Time tested golf course in a nice area. Greens play true. From a membership standpoint tee times can be a smidge more difficult to get. The course is a fair test of your game. I had considered joining at one point, but couldn't quite pull the trigger. Front 9 is walkable, back 9 is not. There are some really memorable holes. Troon area is pretty-it's hard not to have a nice frame around the holes. There are houses visible if that matters to you.

Customer Service

Membership director is really nice. Staff was great both times with one minor exception. We finished the front 9 in under 2 hours and he was trying to hurry us a long and I couldn't figure out why. There was a group of really good players 3 holes behind-they caught up to us around 16. I would have been fine letting them play through, so I wasn't sure what the rush was other than we were reciprocals, they were members.

This is one of the most challenging layouts in North Scottsdale. Tough off the tee but very fair. Little to no room for error on the par 3s. A true test with no gimmicks or tricked up holes. One of Weiskopf's finest designs.

Customer Service

Typical high end country club service.

Excellent desert course. Weiskopf's first design and it holds up very well after 20 years. Many holes place a premium off of the tee. Very fair but challenging from the fairway. It can be a very bad day if you are not hitting it strait. Back nine (original front) is more scenic than the front.

Customer Service

Pretty good. Clubhouse is a bit bland but all of the employees are friendly and generally provide a high level of service.

One of the great courses. Exciting routing, especially on the back, with big elevation changes and holes you will never forget. Service and clubhouse are top notch. This is a very tough course, especially off the tee. Unforgiving. My only nits with this course- the water on the 9th hole looks fake and out of place in the desert. Very hokey.

The previous review is bogus- this is one of the finest courses in the US in every way. Great conditions, great layout, great service, etc etc- I cannot think of a flaw to this wonderful course. It ranks right up there with Desert Highlands, another challenging North Scottsdale gem. If you ever have the chance make a point of playing Troon!

Customer Service

Doesn't get any better.
