Shoots in the 80s

I played Tubac Golf Resort in May, 2010. Overall, I was very pleased w/ the course and experience. It is very beautiful, w/ nice views of the mountains and imposing cottonwood trees around many of the holes. The track itself is very traditional, with grass from tee to green and very little desert. The routing is decent, but nothing spectacular- some nice doglegs. In general it is a flattish course ... and pretty short (the longest 18 hole combination plays 6870. The fairways have a lot of run in them ...
One issue I had was the condition of the greens on one of the 9s- they'd finished deep punching them shortly before our round and they were slow and bumpy. The second 9 had perfect greens- receptive, smooth, excellent. I really enjoyed playing here and plan to play the resort again.

Customer Service

Customer service was fine. The only problem I had in this area was the maintenance ... who seemed to be in the fairway quite frequently. they were cool and professional... but in the way. The resort is a real gem- at the price it is a steal and REALLY nice. And the food is fantastic- the mexican restaurant (dos silos) is off the charts amazing. The food at Stables is also tremendous.

I've played a lot of courses in the Tucson and Phoenix areas, but nothing down in this area before. This is a very pleasant place to play.

Shoots in the 90s

Tubac is a beautiful course. The environment and layout is quite different from Tucson courses. The course was the principle location for much of the movie Tin Cup, and they like to mention it. It is well maintained and extremely challenging. Some holes require a long, well aimed tee shot in order to keep the ball in play.

Customer Service

The staff seemed a little stuck-up
