Shoots in the 90s

I played at the Canyon Course. As the other review says, stray balls are most often lost, but not always. I have played most of the top end courses in Tucson to include Dove Mountain, Arizona National, Star Pass and both Tucson National courses. Overall, I thought Ventana stacked up very well to all of these courses. Of course Dove Mountain at the Ritz is in my opinion the best course in Tucson I have played, great layout. Back to Ventana, this was a great course, lots of fun to play and like most desert courses you have to think your way around, but there was still lots of opportunities to hit driver. I played in Jan 2011 and the course was in great shape as was the practice facility. Very scenic course with lots of wildlife and natural settings abound. There are some houses on the course, but I did not even notice them and they were not intrusive like on many courses. Overall this is a great course that I will play again and again.

Customer Service

Customer service was great and we saw the cart girl like 4 or 5 times in 18 holes.

Shoots in the 100s

There are two courses at Ventana the mountian and the Canyon. This review applies to canyon course. Course is spread out over the foothills in Tuscon. Little rough through out course, if you don''t hit the fairway consider your ball lost. For hitters who have big slices or hooks off the tee bring lots of balls. There are some very interesting holes and a good variety for shot making. Fairways are left fairly natural, i.e. they retain the undulations from the surrounding countryside. I found the last 9 better than the front with hole # 18 making a great finishing hole.

Customer Service

Overall, very good and considerate. Staff very helpful and will go out of way to help the golfers coming on and off the course. Unfortunately, there is no drink cart so stock up before you begin and
