Shoot in the 90s

This course is in the middle of farm country and near the Delta in Bethel island. It's not that long of drive from the Concord/Pleasant Hill area. Around 35 minutes with no traffic.

My son and I happened to play this course when there was no wind. This would be alot harder of a course with the Delta 'breezes' blowing.

The course is pretty straight forward. And I mean straight. I think there's 2 or 3 doglegs on the course. All the par 5's are over 500 yards except one. The par 4's range from 274 to 430 from the whites. The par 3 are all in the 150-160 range.

Most all af the greens were well guarded with bunkers in the front. The sand was in good shape. There were a few well placed fairway bunkers as well.

Now for the course conditions!! Geezz, where do I start. The fairways were made up of dead grass. Granted it was well mowed dead grass, but probably 20% of the fairways had green on them. I don't know if this was because they are letting the old grass die out to reseed, but my brother-in-law played there a couple of months and found the same thing. The tee boxes got progressively worse as the day continued. From mostly having grass to almost none. Atleast the tee boxes were level!!

The greens were in decent condition, but were slow and not much break to them. My kind of greens!! They did have some imaginative pin placements on a couple of holes.

While this course is pretty flat, the fairways were not. They put in alot of little bumps and hills so that a level lie was not gaurunteed. Also made for a bumpy cart ride!

A creek comes into play 3 times on the back nine and there was some OB off 8 or 9 of the fairways.

This is a decent course to play mid week. We caught a midweek deal for $22 per plus cart. Not bad for the SF East Bay. I wouldn't pay much more for this tyoe of course. BTW, it is very walkable.

Similar Products Used:

They had a bar, restaurant, and snack bar.

The range was natural grass and there was a putting green and a sand trap/chipping area too.
Look for a coupon in the CC Times. They usually run on Thursdays.

The pro shop had some clubs, clothes, the usual fare.
