Shoots in the 80s
Great layout. They just don't make essentially flat pieces of ground into golf courses like this any more. You have to really think about where you want to hit the ball. Just because you put it into the fairway does not mean you won't be blocked by a tree. The wind will probably be a problem. A couple of fairways have houses/condos in the vicinity, but they don't intrude. There are a few places on the course where they have trouble growing grass, e.g., the 18th and especially 9th fairways. Conditioning is a bit rough, but to my way of thinking, the interesting and challenging design more than makes up for it. And it's cheap. |

I PLAYED THIS COURSE 10 YEARS AGO AND THE CONDTION WAS OK. PLAYED IT LAST MONTH AND IT WAS AWFUL. WEEDS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE FAIRWAYS AND THE GREENS WERE VERY BAD. LUCKILY THE GREEN FEES ARE REASONABLE FOR THE SAN DIEGO AREA. AN ATTEMPT WAS BEING MADE TO GROW GRASS BY FLOODING THE FAIRWAYS AND KEEPING THE GREENS MUSHY. TOO BAD THEY LET A FAIRLY GOOD COURSE GO TO POT. GARY MCCORD, WHO USED TO PLAY HERE, WOULD BE ASHAMED. Customer Service PEOPLE WERE NICE AND SERVICE WAS GOOD FOR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SELL YOU.
