The course is very unpredictable. Some of the Greens are unkept and are situated next to some very run down scary homes. There are quite a few 90 degree dog leg rights that are interesting. It must have been a beautiful course at one time but it was an experience.

Not very friendly staff. The course Marshall that day (very old man) was very abrasive and behaved as though he were drunk as he may have been.

I agree with the other reviews. Not much has changed. Par 70 @ 5971 from the blue tees. A desent layout with mild elevation changes. Easy to walk. Target golf with tree lined fairways. Conditions are ugly. Looks like the front nine was washed out this winter. About $30 to walk. Feb. 08.

I read the other three reviews on this course before I played it. I should have listened. The front nine on this course was alright. Very scenic with some interesting holes. I shot a 42 and was somewhat pleased. The back nine was in horrible shape. The fairways were full of ruts. I really took a jarring in the cart! Greens were unpredictable and did not run true. The guy that desribed the course as being a clown's mouth was absolutely correct. Don't even bother expecting a low score if you play on this course. The front nine was the only reason I'm rating this a two.

The Calimesa Country Club exists in a area of Southern California with no shortage of golf courses. Within 5 miles of the Calimesa Country Club, Oak Valley and the two PGA Calimesa courses offer far more sophisticated opportunities at considerably higher cost. The attributes of the Calimesa Country Club lie mostly in budget price and availibility. This past weekend, my wife and I had a pleasant time playing the Calimesa Country Club course. The week-end rate ($38 with cart) is about half the Oak Valley/PGA Calimesa green fee - and we walked into the club house without a reservation at 10:30 on a Saturday morning. Try that at Oak Valley! The Calimsea CC course is a little odd with a number of blind tee shots, blue tees seemingly unrelated to the white and red, and two par 5's (#1 and #18) with 90 degree doglegs to the right at about the 450 yard marker (making the opportunity of reaching the green in two impossible, even for John Daly.) Greens run the scale from OK to pretty scruffy, the fairways are rock hard on several holes and spongie on others, and the general layout of the course (situated in a nice canyon area of Calimesa) is a little peculiar. On several occasions, approach shots stopped immediately in front of greens owing to soft and moist turf. The map of the course layout provided at the clubhouse is highly inaccurate. Fairways are rough and uneven. On two occasions, my clubs fell out of the back of our cart due to the bumpy fairway ride and the aged state of the cart's straps. However, this is not an unpleasant course. The canyon views are very nice, the odd nature of the layout is not without charm and a good roast beef sandwich is available for around $4 at the club house. On the "Ruby Scale" of 1 to 5, with 5 being truly outstanding, overall, the Calimesa Country Club earns a solid 3. Low price (especially on week days, and they offer Entertainment.com 2 for 1 discounts), availibility and senic charm are the greatest assets.

always liked to play here, but since the opening of nearby Yucaipa golf course, the course condition has went down drastically. interesting course with lots of hidden greens. worth playing for the price.

This is truly a "windmills" and "clown's mouth" layout. Many holes claiming to be doglegs were abrupt 90 degree turns less than 100 yards from the greens protected by hillsides. Some fairways have concrete drainage in play. Tee positions are bizarre and close to the last green. The greens were frozen at 10 a.m. in mid November preventing early play. When defrosted the greens were mediocre.
