Shoots in the 70s

Just played this course yesterday, and as a San Diego resident, I've played upwards of 30 courses around town. This course is a tremendous value, and a real "feel good" course. It is relatively flat with no real slopes, and most of the hazzards are out of play if you are striking the ball strait and true. To be honest, it is not a test of length (like Torrey Pines) or accuracy(like La Costa or Eagle Crest), but you can find ways to take big numbers out there. If you get a little wild off the tee on the longer holes or some of the more severe doglegs, you can quickly find yourself with a monster 2nd shot to get a chance for a green-in-reg, or without a clear line to the green. If you're able tp keep the ball in the short grass, you should be able to take dead aim at the greens, which yesterday were extremely receptive to 6 irons and lower. The greens putted slow (relly, quite slow), but they were easy to read, and the ball stayed true. Now, on to why I loved this place - it has gorgeous views of the city and the water, and the final three holes play along the waterfront, with sunbathers and sailboats in reach if you miss the ball to the right (caution to all you slicers out there ;-))... You get all of this for only $20! Unreal value for what you're getting!! My only real beef with the course was the practice area only had mats open, no grass to hit off of. This is a real bummer to me, but considering that 90 of the courses still use those awful mats, I guess that I can't ding them too much. Of course, it's extremely difficult to get a tee time, but if you're motivated nothing is impossible. I sincerely recommend trying to get to this track - I'd be extremely suprized if you didn't enjoy every minute of it.

Shoots in the 90s

Coronado G.C. is a fun course in a GREAT location. And for $20 anytime (even weekends) there is not a better value--especially in the summer months where the temparature hovers around 70-75 degrees. The course is not extremely difficult, but its scenic setting (not to mention ridiculously cheap green fees) make it one of my favorite places to play.

Shoot in the 90s

Great Course. Coronado is not a very hard course. It has a few holes that are pretty tricky. Overall it is one of my favorite courses. Great scenery. Condition is always moderate. Course has alot of play so there are a few beat up spots.
