Shoots in the 100s

I found this course entirely by accident. I was taking my daughter and wife to the Healthsouth Ice Rink nearby, and noticed the driving range as we drove past on Sepulveda. My son and I had two hours free time, so we went back to hit some balls at the range. I purchased the range token, then asked the young man behind the counter how long a round would take. When he said, "oh, an hour and a half", my eyes got wide, and I asked him if there were any openings soon. He said we could go on right now (it was around noon on a Monday.) We hurriedly grabbed our bags, put on our shoes, and jogged over to the first tee. It's a short course, but I guess it's intended for people like me - for a quick and relaxing little round of golf - and only $9 for me and $7 for my teenaged son. With the exception of #4 and #9, all holes are short par 3's. (Hole #3 is the longest, around 178). As other reviewers have said, hole #4 is the most difficult, as it runs uphill and the fairway drops from left to right and runs 269 yards (amazingly, I made the first birdie of my life on this round). Hole #9 is unique - it runs around 225 yards, but the rules of the course clearly state NO WOODS, ONLY IRONS which was a disappointment to me because I was hitting well that day. (That rule must be there because there's the restaurant patio that would be the target of any long hitter with a draw.) We did come back the next day to use the range and the putting green. The range has two levels, and I recommend the upper level - the lower has mats next to poles, and I was continually afraid of hitting a pole with my driver.

Driving range - nearly all the range balls were new. Take the top level - I was bothered by the poles.

Shoots in the 100s

One of the most challenging courses I've ever played. Man o' man, that dog leg left Par 4 on the 4th really is a doosie!

Shoots in the 90s

One of the best executive courses (in terms of playing conditions) that I've played. A nice, 9 hole layout with some par 4's. Traffic from Sepulveda Blvd will affect play. A nice dual level driving range.

Customer Service

Excellent. Great to walk-on and play during the week.

Shoot in the 80s

A short 9 hole course that is mostly par 3 with 2 par 4's. Longest hole is a difficult 269 yd par 4 and shortest is a 78 yard hole that is very straightforward. There is a 96 yard par 3 (hole 5) with a steep elevation drop and a gutter that cannot be seen from the tee. A very well maintained course that is a steal for the price ($11). Although water is abundant, it never comes into play except on hole 4. I found this course to be challenging yet forgiving. For example, on hole 1, every characteristic is facing the hole. No matter where you shoot, the ball will get a good bounce. The toughest hole is hole 4. Not only is it the longest, but you are shooting way uphill. Any weak shot and the ball will roll down the hill and end up in the water. This is a busy course and expect to get rushed on the par 3's.
