Play here quite often due to the fact that it is a walking friendly course and offer discounts for walking after 2:OO PM. I always find it to be in good shape. However be warned that it is part of a timeshare resort and they offer free rounds of golf for taking their "3 hour tour" . I have been caught behind many a 5 some , and people that have never been on a course before, That said it is like a box of chocolates.

Welk Resort has two courses: the Oaks is a par 3 course (1764 yds./men; 1615 yds./women) and The Fountain which is mainly par 4 with some par 3 and 5. The setting is lovely, the courses are well maintained and rarely crowded, and the prices are very reasonable. The Oaks is perfect for a complete beginner (me); it's short and has some variety and you don't have the really good golfers rushing your play.
