Shoots in the 80s

I played this course the other day for the first time with a couple of friends. We went during twighlight (4:00pm) and it was only $15/person with cart, which if you're from the Bay Area, you know is a good deal. The place is a semiprivate country club with two courses, the dragon course and the goblin course. Every month they alternate which course is public and which is private. We ended up playing the goblin course. I have to say that it is one of the better courses that I've played in this area. There are some pretty dramatic elevation changes on almost every hole. I can only think of a few that were flat. Elevated tees and greens are almost standard there. The course isn't really tight, but I wouldn't say it's wide open either. There are a lot of hazards, with a creek paralleling or splitting many of the holes. There are some long and challenging par 5s and some reachable par 4s. The course really has a lot to offer. The holes are unique, even in respect to each other. You never get that deja vu feeling that is common of public/municipal courses, where all the holes seem to run together in your mind. The greens there are slick. I'm used to playing all the courses around San Jose and San Mateo, so it was a big adjustment to these greens. I really can't recommend this course enough. It offers an exclusive/professional feel and a muni price.

Customer Service

The staff was very courteous.
