Played Celebrity course with 140 pm tee time. Followed local tourney which slowed all groups up.
Most well landscaped course I've played with flowers all around & several fountains at various spots along way.
Much undulation of greens & fairways. Umpteen sand traps & water hazards will be bane of High Handicapper as was in either on what seemed every hole.
If you don't play often, I would heartily recommend if your high score doesn't hurt your enjoyment of a beautiful golf course!

Good overall course, with nothing major to complain about.

Sand could use some work.

Nice course. Interesting layout. Sand was a bit inconsistent. Greens were nice and challenging. Beautifully maintined grass. Beautiful scenery. Enough elevation changes for fun. Water, when it comes into play, is quite nice. Great starter! Good golf shop. Bag drop well done. A bit popular, so was a bit crowded. GPS system worked but menus had some issues. Definitely worth a visit... and the afternoon costs are reasonable. (Played the West)

SAND TRAPS

PLAYED BOTH COURSES IN AUGUST AND THEY WERE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR 100 DEGREE TEMPERATURES. TEES, FAIRWAYS AND GREENS WERE IN EXCELLENT BUT THE SAND TRAPS NEEDED WORK. LAYOUTS OF BOTH ARE INTERESTING FOR RESORT COURSES WITH LOTS OF WATER AND SAND WITH ROLLING FAIRWAYS. SUMMER DEALS AT INDIAN WELLS HOTELS EXCELLENT AT $99 PER NIGHT INCLUDES ROOM AND GOLF.

Magnificent setting with palm trees, ponds, etc. A definite challenge even though only 6500 yards. Beautiful clubhouse, very friendly staff and course marshals.

A little expensive in the winter if you don't have a coupon.

2 courses, I only played the West course, wish I had time to play the East. As opposed to the reviewer who played the course in the summer heat, I played it in January, 2001. The weather was great, course conditions we also great. This is a must play course when you are in the Palm Springs area. Check the Desert Sun newspaper as they nearly always have coupons for various courses in the Palm Springs area. I had a coupon for this course, $55 for 18 holes, free lunch and sleeve of 3 golf balls. Not only is this a great course to play, the scenery is fantastic. Not the most difficult course I have played, but very challenging with the undulations and slope of the fairways and greens. If I ever get to this area again, this course will definitely be near the top of my list to play, and probably would be on yours also.

Fairways are very wide. No crowds in the summer if you can handle the heat.

Ball is unstoppable on the greens in the summer.

Both of these courses rule. Especially since the Renaisance Esmeralda runs great unlimited golf packages all summer. Granted it is hot out but, just take plenty of water with you and you can have the course all to yourself. Wide open fairways with lots of water features makes it a great play to play. In the summer scoring is out of the question since stopping the ball on the greens is like trying to check a ball on a parking lot. Just can't keep any water in them. However, it is still great fun to have your but kissed by the staff and play on beautiful golf courses at extremely reasonable prices. Enjoy.
