Both the Mountian and the Dunes courses are enjoyable but challenging. Last round on the Dunes a fella in the party bought a glass table, and two strokes. LOL. Winter is the best time to go to the Desert. Fun Fun Fun!!!

We have played both the Mountian and the
Dunes courses and find both very enjoyable. Both are kept in fine conditions. We alway look forward to our stays in La Quinta.

More like 6200-6300 from the white tees. Well tended resort course. Played 2:30pm Sat tee on Mountain then 6:15am Sun tee on Dunes. Mountain was flat through most of the front 9, some great view holes on back 9. It's a mental thing with the houses bordering resort courses. I'm a hack, but have never broken anything... so just get that out of your mind, then you'll enjoy your round in PS more. Because most courses have houses lining the side of the fairways. Don't let the name of architect scare you off - this course is very enjoyable at all levels. And the scenery is amazing on some holes! Come down and play La Quinta. They didn't push me for extra amenitites as much as other reviews have said - friendly, unpushy staff when I was there. Drink Cart was a bit slow ... saw it only once on the morning round but more often in the afternoon round.

Customer Service

Good staff.

Played weekend of 6/1/02. Played the beautiful Mountain course and had mid morning tee time in which we were unable to escape the midday heat. The front nine played very open and fair as the holes wove around water and sandy hazards. The back nine has some great views, smart holes and winds through the homes that makes you nervous with your shots if you tend to spray the ball. Hooks or slices will find the back yards, mini-pools and other backyard paraphenalia, unless you hit a supported column or window. The only one you don't have to worry about making a payment on damage is the par 3 16th, which is an 'island' green around the rocky terrain with a gorgeous view of the surrounding valley of homes.

Customer Service

The outside operations staff was great. They provided great car to cart service. Inside the clubhouse, tee time check-in was easy, but they tended to be pushy about buying extra amenities.

Locker room facilities were very good and was as good as expected for this resort course. It is good to shower after a hot, sunny day on the course and get a chance to cool down after the round. The k
