I remember mentioning to my playing partner while we were on the putting green prior to our tee time that I thought the greens were like the carpet in my living room. I never expected to have them that fast and clean on the course!
This is a course full of suprises: going up the switch back to the 10th tee and wondering out loud "I see the tee box but where in the hell is the pin?". Then going to the end of the tee box and seeing the par 3 pin way down below. And the split fairway on the 18th tempting the gambler in you to take the short route knowing full well it will cost you big time if you screw up.
This is a course you'll want to play many times.

The gardener helped me find my ball on one of the par 3s and the marshall found my ball on a par 5.

The salsa and chips in the restaurant were great...no kidding!

The course is very nicely laid-out, rambling through the vineyards. Tee boxes and greens are well maintained and there is nothing too tricky about the layout. Views are great and the course keeps you coming back. Carts are allowed on the fairways at 90 degrees but because of the caretakers, they don't show the wear. There are a lot of "risk and reward" decisions to be made throughout the round and course management had better be used here. The previous reviewer was so interested in the Lombard Street hill climb between the 9th and 10th holes he missed the snack bar right there.

Practice range is too far from the starter's box and the first tee. Almost ran out of gas and burned out the brakes. Food at the main snack bar is a 7.5 out of 10.

Well-maintained and challenging course. Great weather in the afternoon but gets very cold and foggy in the early mornings. Great course layout built around vineyards. Very fast greens. Definitely liked the option of fairways to hit on the 18th hole....should I play it safe and hit to the left fairway or do I have the guts to hit it to the right fairway which is a shorter distance to the hole but requires a second shot over water? Well needless to say, I played it safe and finished with par unlike two others in my foursome that hit their second shots into the water hazard and finished with double bogey.

Customer Service

Excellent customer service. Everyone made us feel welcome and were eager to make our day as enjoyable as possible. As soon as we parked two golf carts had come to us to pick up our bags and get them ready for our round, after the round they cleaned our clubs and brought them to our truck.

The restaurant had a pretty good selection of food and the option to eat outside right next to the 18th green so you can watch others finish up their round while you eat. But always keep your eyes on incoming balls because one actually came rather close. Golf shop was well stocked with an assortment of products and souveniors.
