Shoots in the 80s

As a private course, Madera Golf and Country Club leaves a lot to be desired. Really it's only marginally better - and not in all aspects - than its public cousin Madera Muni. The design is odd with many of the cart paths crossing each other and only rare instances of level fairway lies and hole without a dog leg. Great shots off the tee are sometimes punished by bad lies in uneven fairways. Blind shots abound on this course which thankfully does not have so much play that hitting into unseen groups ahead is not a problem. Alas that is why this course is "better" than it's muni-cousin, not as many players which makes for a quicker round!

Customer Service

The pro shop is small but fairly well stocked if you need balls for that days round. I have not used any of the pro services - teaching, tournament scheduling, etc. The restaurant is serviceable. The entire clubhouse is dated... Seems like you're stepping into the 1970s but its comfortable.

Similar Products Used:

This course has a similar feel to Sherwood Forest GC in Sanger, Ca and sad to say, Airways GC in Fresno.
