PRIMM/LAKES. (THIS COURSE SHOULD BE LISTED IN NEVEDA AS I CAME HERE WHEN I STAYED IN VEGAS, JUST A 25 MINUTE DRIVE ALL ON INTERSTATE AND COURSE IS NEXT TO HIGHWAY.) PLAYED OCT 6, 2010. VERY NICE COURSE, SEVERAL DOG LEGS, LOTS OF GRASS (FOR IN THE MIDDLE OF DESERT), MEDIUM SPEED GREENS, GOOD PACE OF PLAY, SLIGHTLY LONGER PAR 3'S THAN NORMAL, SOME WATER COMES INTO PLAY, BUT IT SEEMED LIKE WATER LEVEL MUST HAVE BEEN LOW. SOME LARGE UNDULATING GREENS MEANT TRYING TO LAND ON RIGHT LEVEL, SEVERAL FAIRWAY BUNKERS, WHICH IF YOU ARE LONG WITH YOUR DRIVER, YOU CAN HIT PAST SOME OF THEM, IF YOU CANT HIT STRAIGHT OR LONG, YOU WILL BE IN SOME (GOOD SAND THOUGH). HIGHLY RECOMMEND, MAY BE A LITTLE CHEAPER SINCE IT IS OUT OF TOWN, BUT BETTER THAN MANY INTOWN COURSES.

Primm Valley 1/29/06- this is said to be an "immaculate"course in reviews i've read. nice layout but dissapointing today. fairways are a bit thin, bunkers heavy (some under rehab) and greens are spongey and slow but smooth. saw the cart gal on 3 and not again til 13, drinking water is scarce. failed to tell us they were shooting a golf video on 15 that had groups backed up 5 deep and we were already past the 4:15 mark. gave us a $40 credit, but i didn't drive 3 hours to play 14 holes on this course. perhaps i chose a bad day.

See previous review. Played Desert Course 1/19/02 with Glenn and Skip from NJ. Great time. If you can stay out of the sand on this one you can probably walk on water. Wonderful variety of looks and shots. No tricks or blind angles. No target golf. Absolutely have to manage your game though. High handicaps will get beat to death. Conditions were magnificent for January. Can''t wait to get back. Work a package deal through the Primm Resorts

Customer Service

Pleasant cordial folks. Ranger needed to push us for a hole or so and was a total gentleman about it. Super driving range (balls included in fees) and a free metal bag tag that weights about a pound.

A beatiful facility!! Played both courses several times, and they have always been in great shape. The lakes course gets all the press and is the prettier of the two. But the dessert course is deffinitely the tougher of the two. These greens are pure, and very, very fast! No excuses, if you miss a putt on these it isn't the courses fault. Lakes course is pretty open and manageable FROM THE PROPPER SET OF TEES!! ask in the pro shop for their reccomendation. Bring your camera, some of the views make you forget you are anywhere near the dessert. The dessert course is a little longer, a little tighter, same types of greens, with lots of huge bunkers and waste areas.

Came all the way from Idaho to play with my son as his graduation present. They sent us out with Ma and Pa Kettle...two wonderful old timers from Canada who had NEVER NOT EVEN ONCE played golf before. Not what I expected for $200. (Ma and Pa had coupons from somewhere). I learned patience. Ah...but the greens were a ball. I've never had a chance to putt on that kind of surface before. We just waited until Ma and Pa got done stomping around batting at their balls, repaired their divots in the greens and then it was our turn. Grand sweeping fairways grown out of the salt pans and the desert. I loved the course and I wish Ma and Pa the best...My son and I still laugh...actually better memories than if we had been with "Mike and Bob" from NJ.

Alsolutely superb course condition and layout coupled with nice, attentive staff make this course a winner (Lake Course). Tour caliber atmosphere from tee to green. Wide carpet-like fairways and huge undulating greens that are fast and true. State-of-the-art designer bunkers, no kidding! Special summer promotional rate provides one of the best golfing values anywhere if you can deal with desert heat. Par 3, 12th is a killer for slicers from back tee - 234 yards uphill with bunkers and wate hazard on right, also one of the most memorable. My foursome enjoyed every minute of it and could have replayed if cooler - it was 115F at 3PM. Better than other Tom Fazio courses in Southern California - Meadows Del Mar and Pelican Hill. I will come back to play the Desert Course next time.
