The predominantly flat layout features bunkered greens that have significant pitches yet approachable fronts. Additionally, the natural habitat presents hazards that make scoring deceptively difficult. Then there's the winds. If you are out on the course in the later afternoon, do not be surprised to find 20 mph winds facing your shots. It takes what looks like an easily attackable course and lays men low. The wind is a huge aspect of this course, as there are shots you'd swear were perfect but fall two club lengths short due to mismanaging the upper winds. For a municipal course, this place is wonderful.
Two practice greens, a short game facility and an all grass driving range make this place the East Bay's best golf value.
