Shoots in the 80s
This is one very targety course! Five holes are on the mountainside. The rest of the course is in a marsh area. Most holes have forced carries. A few are long. Fairways are very narrow and ball placement is a must. No one with less than a 20 handicap should probably play this course. Conditions are decent. Setting was unbelieveable. Beautiful doesn't even describe it. Nice layout, but as with other Jones Jr courses I've played, shot choices are limited. Seemed like I was hitting 8 iron on every hole. I prefer having options rather than having every shot dictated to me by the design. Very windy, especially in the afternoon. Loved it even with my complaints about the layout. Conditioning was good. I've played this course three times. All three times, the course was in excellent shape. It is cart path golf the whole distance. It is a RLJones course so you can just imagine the difficulty. It is very tight with no forgiveness on either side. Six holes are cut thru the trees on the mountain side and the rest are in the meadow surrounded by water and tall grass. Once out in the meadow portion, the wind will play a very BIG factor in your game. The greens are very fast and accurate with lots of breaks and twists. When you're finished, you are finished.
