Shoots in the 80s

This place is one of my favorite courses in the world. I believe about 12-14 holes have ocean views. If you can play in the afternoon because there is something special about seeing the sun set, fog roll in, and hearing the bag pipes as you play 16-18. A truly wonderful gofl experience. It is a bit of a target course, but there are plenty of holes where you can blast driver. Like most courses in the Bay Area local knowledge is helpful especially on approsh shots. The greens are tricky, fast, contoured, and if you put your approach in the wrong spot a 3 puttt is likley. Do not short side yourself or you will not get up and down. I give this course the highest recomendation if you do not live in a place where that has ocean side golf. The beauty of this place is truly stunning.

Any course next to a beach and mtns. is for me, this one included. Stick around at the end of the day for the bagpipes. If you don't get goosebumps, something is wrong with you. Yes, this is target golf, and if I play there again, I will get a caddie. A few blind shots. Deer in the fairways was a nice touch. Sit out on the deck next to the #1 tee, and enjoy a cold one after your round. You cannot beat the view of the ocean.

Decent.

Don't expect to step up to the tee and bang away. You need to think about every shot there. An expensive beautiful course in good condition from tee to green. Don't forget to stay for sunset when the bagpipe player plays around the gas fireplace outside at Roy's Restaurant. Don't miss the fire roasted local artichoke.

Bring along a golfing buddy you can laugh with. If you are easily frustrated or highly critical of your game, save your money. Its really about the overall experience here. You must have pin point placement skills to succeed on this course. If you survive the fairways, the greens will beat you into submission. Enjoy the views.

A pretty course down the coast from Pebble Beach. The links design is played up a lot, but to me was quirky. You cannot bounce the ball onto many greens, which is odd for a windy links design. There are lots of wierd bounces in the fairways too. A caddy would help a lot.

Customer Service

Better than Pebble.

Golf the way it was supposed to be played. Nuff said.

Although you pay through the arse to play and be on the 17 mile drive, you do get treated well- by california standards anyway. Pro shop and restaurant staff were strong and helpful, though a clubhouse/lockeroon might have been helpful.

Shoot in the 80s

Shot 127 first time out on this one.(15 handicap). Never experienced target golf like this before. Lots of blind shots into foggy corners across a never never land of ice plant and sand. GPS on carts was nice but still need some local knowlege to score. Course was impeccable as you might expect for the big bucks. Putting green was worth the price of admission. Spent 1 1/2 hours playing there. Mega atmosphere and Mega bucks. Nice folks in the lodge/pro shop...felt kinda out of place in my Hush Puppies though. I'm saving for my next visit unless my kids offer to take me to Pebble first. Impossible to not enjoy this kind of course even if you're making a fool of yourself with your driver and pitching wedge. The only thing that would help would be radar on the carts when the fog rolls in...where is the flag?
