I was not pleased with the course overall. I felt that there were far too many blind tee shots and since the "tee shot" sets the tone and the opportunity for score, it's my belief that this course may not appeal to the average golfer. I do realize that Palmer courses require some shot shaping, that's fine; however, you should be able to select a target and then shape if necessary. The greens were in fantastic shape; true and fast! Based on this aspect I give the course 3 stars. I probably would not recommend the course to most golfers.

I expected more from this course, since they host a Nationwide tour event here. There were a few memorable holes, but otherwise, nothing special. I think you need some experience here. The tee boxes tend to aim you in the wrong spot. The greens & bunkers were in good condition, fairways just ok. I did get a great deal from an online tee time service ($23 weekday pm w/cart) but wouldn't pay more.

Customer Service

The starter was not helpful.Snack shop was standard.

Moreno Valley Ranch is similar, but better. It's a Pete Dye. This had some of those Pete Dye-like features. First time playing an Arnold Palmer design. Maybe it grows on you. I'll try it again someday.

Empire Lakes is one of the best values in Southern California for seniors (55+) at only $40, with cart. The course is challenging but fair. Numerous blind tee shots but fortunately the starter told us to always aim at the palm trees in the distance off the tee. Helpful, but the second time around this course is definitely easier. The condition was great and the staff friendly. The restaurant is only a snack shop and overpriced ($6 for a hot dog). O well, I'm glad they have put their money into the course and not the other amenities.

A fairly good course for the price. In good shape, not the most challenging, but not the easiest either. Would play here again.

Overall a very nice course. Although when I played I was running a fever and not feeling very well. I thought the tees and fairways were in decent overall shape. The greens were a little beat up. For the $$ is was a decent value. Shot 77 for 18 holes. Nice business trip course, easy to get on. Bad news was waiting for groups in front.

Interesting layout in good condition. Pick the correct tees or you''ll have a long day. Condition is usually very good but have played course in summer when the greens weren''t in the best of shape. No trees on this course but you still camn loose balls if off the fairways.Earlier reviewer said restaraunt was good but it is only a snack bar.If they truly want to be considered a high end course they shouldn''t be charging for range balls.

Empire Lakes is a gem and the current host course of the Buy.Com Tour Inland Empire Open. The design is nicely balanced between "target" golf and wide-open, swing-from-the-heels play. Bentgrass fairways and greens are normally immaculate. Bunkers and water are definitely in play but there are only a couple forced carries of more than 150 yds. Greens fees include power cart and are very reasonable, compared to the other top-flight daily fee courses in the area. Even though the Golf Shop is relatively small, it is well stocked with apparel and accessories. Restaurant serves good breakfasts and lunches with beer/wine. Course aggressively seeks tournaments so players should make sure and call ahead for tee times. Special senior rate on Mondays and twilight rates after Noon or 2 pm, depending on time of year. This is a "must play" for Southern California golfers and others visiting here.

Customer Service

Customer service has always been good from my perspective.
