The course layout is superb as nearly every hole has a subtle design to make the tee shot, the approach shot and the putts all demanding strokes. The water holes generally have a risk/reward factor and the risk is always a watery grave for a too agressive shot.

The conditions of fairways and greens were not the best, but maybe it is its maintenance time.

Played 6/8 and 6/9/02 as part of a group outing. This Pete Dye course traverses through the homes and around the hotel property in Rancho Mirage. The mounds, bunkers and placement of water all make the course challenging and interesting. Number 14 was an extremely tough hole with water on both the left for a too long of a drive and on the right for a wayward approach shot to the green. The finishing hole has water on the left side of the fairway running all the way to the hole
