Model Reviewed: Presidio Golf Course

Not a very easy or fun to play course. The front nine starts with a severe down hill tee shot to a collection area full of range balls. Your second shot is up hill to a flat green about the only one on the course. Just about every lie you get is either uphill, downhill, sidehill. The greens are very undulated and three puts are common. What I didn't like about the course is that you are constantly shoot to uphill greens. This compounded by the fact the tee boxes are uneven, crowned or sloped doesn't make golf a lot of fun at the Presidio. Also the place is expensive. I much rather play Harding Park in San Francisco.

Shoots in the 80s

Played twilight for $38 - Course was an experience, Foggy, windy and downright nasty cold in August. Beautiful layout, unique holes, history of the area make for a must play when in SF. Greens were a tad beat up. $108 for a regular greens fees is too much.

Customer Service

Nice, but clueless.

An absolute beauty of a course. Classic country club feeling. Beautiful views of surrounding San Francisco on some holes when it is not foggy. Hilly, with many elevation changes and uneven lies.

Customer Service

Excellent.

played here in February and condition was terrible. Millions of daisies in the fairways, cant find your ball. Drainage was terrible, hadnt rained in weeks, still underwater. Greens were a joke. Good layout, though, and I could tell it was a good course in the summer, assuming they mowed the fairways and greens. Fair price, for the middle of the City, and overall nice feel to it. I would give it another try, maybe after June or so.

Customer Service

After Arnold Palmer Co took over, they built a new proshop and snobbed it up.

Shoot in the 90s

Great course if you're lucky to have a tee time on a nice day. It can get cold, grey and foggy up there - last week I couldn't see more than 80 yards.

The views are spectacular and they redid all the greens about two years ago.

Customer Service

Nothing but friendly.

Nice place for brunch. If you want to hit at the range, don't go in the late afternoon - the sun will be in your face.

Nice layout. Very good maintenence for a public course. Tee boxes were a little beat up but still average at worst. Resort course type of rough (not too much cabbage in play) Fairways were average with many side-hill lies. Greens were above average for a public course. No water in play but many well maintained bunkers.

Customer Service

I walked up. The friendly people in the pro shop were pretty clueless.

The range is in a strange spot that interferes with practice and play on the first hole.

Shoot in the 90s

Very nice and well maintained course. Narrow fairways and some greens surrounded by bunkers so accuracy is extremely important. Most holes are played uphill so you have to use an extra club or two longer than usual.

Customer Service

Everyone was extremely nice and helpful.

Shoot in the 90s

This is a nice course. Very well maintained from what I saw when I played on July 4 ,2000. A difficult course for a muni golfer like me. Not used to 400+ yd uphill par 4's.

If you like to walk and be challenged, this will get
your cardio in for the day, very hilly.

I found the length challenging and some of the par 3's
have small greens which make it tough. The first one
is surrounded by 5 or more bunkers so it's tough
if you miss.

Price was around $50 first thing in the am, not sure of weekend rate.

Customer Service

Very top notch service and attentiveness
