Shoots in the 90s

This course was clearly beyond my abilities the first time I played it, but I was lucky enough to have a premier professional alongside me as a personal instructor. Given that stroke of luck, I only lost 12 balls in the rough. Yes the rough is unforgiving, and the course at time windy, but it still struck me as one of the best, most challenging courses in the So-Cal. Fairways were excellent, water holes challenging, with only the rough and the Scottish bunkers to spoil my day. It's private and you need the contacts to play, but well worth it.

I disagree with the previous reviews about being one of the best courses west of the Mississippi or in CA for that matter. It is a challenging course, but the fairway conditions used to be terrible until they change the grass. Greens are fair, but far from being the best in So. Cal.

Great links-style course in the scenic Wood Ranch areaz of the Simi Valley. Combination of limited fairway roll and many elevated greens means course plays longer than card, pick the right tees. Putting rewards touch, and the rough definitely costs strokes. Prevailing afternoon breezes can be counted on. LPGA played here in January.

Private so if you dont have $18,000.00 bones for a membership you will be missing out on one of the finest golf courses west of the Mississippi. Has a rep of being difficult so when you finish the front nine you say to yourself that wasnt that bad. Then you start the back nine. Bring plenty of balls

best course in ventura county, except for sherwood and one of the best in the state. great condition, great layout. fairways are often a bit wet but that is due to poor drainage and the bent grass. best greens in all southern california. a true risk reward course.
