I consider Woodley Lakes my home course since it's relatively close to west LA and is wide-open for indiscriminate bombers (that have no clue where the fairway is) like me. As mentioned in other reviews, Woodley is relatively flat and wide-open...hole#5 being a perfect example of this (looks like a huge football field with a green at the endzone). But I find the course fun and challenging...fun because you don't spend all your time looking for your ball in the trees...challenging cause it's a long course (6800+yards, three 440+yard par 4's).

Customer Service

Typical LA city course service.

A flat, forgiving layout. Wide open and one of the best courses to test those new clubs ! Not much challenge here. One of the better courses in the LA City system.

Customer Service

OK, nothing special.

This is the best of the three courses in the Sepulveda Basin complex of golf course as it has small bodies of water to add substance to the length of the course. For a municipal course, it is very flat and rather open with few trees lining fairways, however on some holes, the trees are the anchor for the doglegs or bends in the layout of the hole. Tee boxes are in generally fair condition; fairways can turn brown during the summer heat and wear and tear of the hackers.

The back nine is a real monster for a city course with only one par 4 that is under 400 yards from the back tees. The front nine appears to be a warmup with #9 (440+ yard par 4)preparing you for the test of the backside.

Snack shop on the course is awkwardly place between 6 hole/7 tee and near 13 hole/14 tee that makes the 2nd trip by the stand more difficult to grab something quickly.
