I love this course. I don't live anywhere Foothills G.C. but try to play this course 2-3 times a year. The course is always in good condition and it is just plain fun to play.

Well foothills is a great course offering an 18-hole championship course, 9-hole executive course, and 9-hole par 3 course. The championship course plays much tougher than you might imagine at first glance. Conditions are usually very good.

This year, Foothills has got a lot of rain, because of this the course is in excellent shape and the native rough is tall and thick. At first glance, Foothills looks like an easy course. It has some wide fairways, and there are not as many trees as you find on some other courses. However, looks are decieving. The trees and hazards are positioned very well. The native rough is abundant and unforgiving. Foothills has a few extremely demanding holes. Hole 3 is long (440Y), uphill, has an off-center tee box, a sloped fairway, trees just outside the fairway on both sides, native outside the trees, and OB on the left. The approach is uphill, a larger bunker wraps around the green short-right, and another gaurds the green long left. There is native grass long, left and right of the green. Because of the slope of a large hill that the hole is built on, putting can be difficult as well. Hole 6 and 18 are also noteworthy for their originality and challange. The greens at Foothills are a little slow, but playable. The rough is a little longer and thicker than average, and the fairways are almost always thick and plush.

Restaurant is ok. It has a balcony with tables that overlooks 9 and 18. The pro-shop is pretty good. It has tons of clothes, but not many clubs. The teaching staff at Foothills is outstanding. Jeff Freebury is excellent with beginners, Jim Hajek and Dave Fisher are good all-around are good all around, Sarah Johnson is really good at fine tuning good swings (5 handicap and lower), Dave Barbosa is outstanding for intermediate and advanced players, and Shannan Hanley is a short game guru.

Course conditions are usually excellent, despite the amount of play at one of Denver's most popular courses. Don't let the open fairways fool you - this course plays tougher than it looks, but every hole is fair. (Well, except maybe the new 4th!) Most tees are flat, the greens are good to very good, the fairways are well kept, and the primary rough is thick.

Customer Service

In more than ten years, I've never had a negative experience.

Restaurant keeps changing owners/ managers, but continues to do OK; range is usually grass and open late (well lit) during the summer
