Shoots in the 90s

The short Par 3 Stratford Short Beach municipal golf course is located on the mouth of the Housatonic river at the junction of Long Island Sound. This course has plenty of sand traps and a few water hazards. The course is challenging as the wind that blows in off the water can make the short course a dicey deal. The greens are well maintained and the course is in general a fine play for the short game. The cost is nominal and oftentimes could be less than a trip to the driving range. This is a walk or pull cart course as the longest hole is 220 yards (7th Hole). You can make this course more challenging by playing from the back markers. You may not need more than a fairway wood on the longest hole. This course is great for you to practice your short game skills. It is a fine course to play, especially for beginners or after work. You can get thru the 9 holes in 1 1/2 hours. You can call for tee times up to a day in advance. If the wind is down, bring some bug spray for the gnats and mosquitos otherwise this is a wonderful experience. The beach is just a few short steps away.
