Hands down, the best value for the money in the area. For a municipal course, it is well maintained. The layout is interesting, and the pace is generally OK considering that it's a Florida course, which means it's loaded with old people (you can't get away from that). Sometimes it will slow to a crawl, but again, old people....

For a local municipal course, I quite enjoyed getting around. When the wind picks up, it can be quite challenging. Condition of tee boxes leaves something to be desired but fairways and greens are in good shape. Bunkers were sometimes left unraked. Staff was extremely nice. Very few holes to use long irons because generally if you hit driver off the tee, you're normally left with a short iron in.

Played this home course a few days ago and Chuck is not wrong is being hard on the way this muni maintians the greens. You don't sand/airate half the greens at the same time and don't tell people before you tee off. This happen a few days ago to my foursome and the staff apologized for not letting us know but it was after the round! I don't blame Chuck because us Boca resident golfers pay enough taxes to deserve a bit better. I was upset that my three other golf buddies from out of state had to putt on sand all day long!! Signs, the starter or somebody in the clubhouse telling us the condition of the greens would be nice. AGREED with other reviews....nice course, nice layout and nice price but make sure you find out whats going on the day you play. CALL FIRST.

Chuck needs to give them another shot. As of April 2003, the whole course is in nice shape. Excellent layout for any skill level. Just hard enough to keep you honest, but easy enough that an 18 player won't go home frustrated. Perfect course if you fall in that 6-25 range that 90% of us do. Nicest muni in FL and pretty cheap too. Also have a pretty nice 9 hole exec course that will give your irons a good test. Greens are in good shape, but not punishingly fast. Great fairways and pretty good tee boxes. Chuck should know that every course occassionally sands/treats their greens...he just picked the wrong day to play!

Chuck's review is now outdated. I played the course 7/20/01 and the greens were fine. This is a municipal course that is much less expensive than most in South Florida. I rode 9 holes for $15. The fairways and greens were both in good shape. Befitting a muni, it's not an overly challenging course - generous fairways, accepting greens. Water does come into play on a few holes, so there is trouble to be had, but better players will get around without too much trouble.

As of 6/15/00 the greens were in VERY bad shape. This course is less than a mile from my home but I don't think I will be playing it anytime soon. Seems the greens caught a fungus and it spread to ALL the greens. Putting is a joke since they spread sand and some other materials on the greens. Tees are fine and fairways are OK but don't play unless you like putting on sand! Right now I would not play on it even if the green fees were FREE! Shame, it's a nice layout.
