As a member, I only pay a cart fee. At that price the courses are worthwhile. As a guest paying the "retail" fee, I would feel disappointed at best and badly overcharged during the "season". There are five courses. The White which was challenging to the point that they just re-did it to make several degrees easier and went too far in removing all excitement from the course. The Red and Gold are nice standard courses. The Silver is closed for a year's renovation which it badly needed due to years of poor maintenance. The Blue Monster just isn't a monster any more. It is an okay course for a resort but not the spectacular course that Doral would like you think it is. Outside of the Pro Shop any of the staff will admit that the Blue is over-priced, over-played, over-hyped and under-maintained. It just isn't worth the money they charge. For a golf experience that is worthwhile go to Crandon Park on Key Biscayne and play a truly enjoyable and different track.

Any course, anywhere. The courses would all qualify as well-maintained munis.

doral is a nice place to play during the peak season. Peak season (nov-may) is when the courses are in their best shape. Do not waste your time playing here during the summer. Notice I said nice and not "great". best course is the blue and the red. most challenging is the gold.

Customer Service

average. cart girls are nice and so are the starters and the guys at the bag drop. The pro shop guys can be plain rude at times. If customer service is what you are looking for, go to vegas or scottsdale.

I have read the reviews that for the most part trash Doral and I am a bit mystified. 8 guys went down from NY on a 4 day package the first weekend of April, which is technically off season pricing. The cost was comparable to PGA Village in Port St Lucie or Wild Dunes in Charleston and Doral was every bit as enjoyable. We found the courses (especially the Blue) challenging, fun and interesting. The White was the only questionable layout in my opinion (a pale imitation of the Dye Course at PGA Village), but some of the guys liked it. Doral is a beautiful resort and if you wait for a good package price, can be enjoyed for a reasonable, competitive cost. Being in Miami gave us great entertainment options as well.

Customer Service

Excellent

Nice Health Facility, practice facilities are good, not great. Adequate to warm up. Jim Mclean School facilities at the other end of range might be better. We did not have time to take advantage of it.

This is a review of the White course ONLY. My favorite course I have ever played, fantastic. Teed off at day break and had a great round. Desert set up was new to me at the time and I really enjoyed the experience.

Model Reviewed: Doral Resort & Country Club

Played this course a couple of years ago. When I called the pro shop, the guy tried to talk me out of playing the Blue Monster. He said it was too hard. Well, after 15 holes I was two over par and found the course to be a bit of a joke. The conditions were "ok", but nothing to write home about. The layout was nice. The couse is way way over priced. Customer service from the time you drove up to the pro-shop was snob-city. Will never return. The people who run and work at Doral could learn a few things from the folks at Reflection Bay in Las Vegas. Those folks know customer service. The cost was about the same, and the experience was completely different. They made me feel like "King Golfer" for a day at Reflection Bay in Vegas. I can't wait to go back to Reflection Bay. Sorry, I digressed. Doral is a huge waste of time and money.

Customer Service

Snobby.

There are much better courses (without the name of course), which are better for less.

What a disappointment. Doral is pricey, very ordinary golf courses, aloof service, and generally a waste of time. I waited a year to mellow down before doing this review.

Customer Service

Excellent, over attending if that's possible. I just wanted to play golf, not be scrutinized.

My Doral experience was not good. Extremely pricy for the value. Greens fee is only the begining of what it will cost to spend time here. Parking, range balls, snacks, sodas and tips. Everyone here has their hands out.

Customer Service

Pro shop employees were very friendly. Rental clubs are nice but expect to pay $85.00.

Facilities are nice but over priced for the value. Doral is a golf factory. I won't be back.

RIP OFF!!!! Played the Blue Monster in February. At $250 I was excited for a great day of golf. Boy, was I disappointed. It started when I drove up to the clubhouse and I was told I must valet my car for $10.00. That put a bad taste in my mouth from the start. Went to the clubhouse to pay my greens fees. I've played all over the US, Hawaii and Ireland and I've paid more then $250 only once or twice in my life. But, for a great experience I won't hesitate to lay down the cash. Stopped off at restuarant for a quick bagel with cream cheese. $3.00 + 10% tax + 20% resort fee? = $3.90. Not a bargain. Went to hit range balls. Another $6.00 for a small bag of 25 balls. Course was ok (Flat Florida Golf with alot of water)but it was three weeks before the tournement so the greens hadn't been cut. Fairways were in nice shape and some of the holes were challenging. At the turn I paid $11.00 + 10% tax + 20% resort fee = $14.30 for a ham and cheese sandwich. I guess by now you've got my point. This should have been a great golf experience on a top rated course. Instead I feel as if I was treated as a one time visitor that should be milked for as much cash as possible. My advice to the ownership. If you are going to charge $250 for a round of golf you should make people walk away feeling as if they got their moneys worth. Include range balls, ball markers, tees, bag tag and maybe even a 10% clothing discount in the pro shop. My group always purchases shirts or hats to take away from the nicer courses we paly and this day we all felt taken advantage of and none of us even considered making a purchase for the pro shop. I would think that you want people to wear your hats or shirts. It's advertising for you when we go back up north. This was a once in lifetime experience because I have no desire to go back there. Now that I think about it you probably knew that ahead of time and that's why you don't care to make this a great golf experience. They are only coming once so get'um for all that we can!

I love Doral, the price is the hard part. I went to golf school there the school was great. Very good instructors and you play the courses in the afternoon. I played the Red, and Great White course. The red was fun. The great White is wonderful and very tough.
