In the past several years, the staff at Forrest Hills should be given a medal. Up until about 5 years ago the greens were awful due to the restoration completed by the Palmer group. The greens were as hard as half the trees hit. After Augusta State left, now NO. 1 in the country, the Palmer group came in and completely redid the greens. To say it was a complete turn around is a mis statement. They are great. The course has been getting better and better and I would say it's one of the best around. The club is truely putting their finest efforts on the course.

Customer Service

Staff is very nice and they employe Augusta State Student as Augusta State runs the course. Good move as they are very nice. Food court could be better as it owned by a separate facility. Food is good and staff very friendly. Prices are good and fair.

Have played several local courses and would rate this one of the best for the money. Very competitive course and the greens will eat your lunch.. Good test for exact ball placement and course management.

Good golf course, but in the summer months it is extremely tough. Greens are made for college golf and during the summer they are unbelievably fast. I hit a sand wedge onto #7, with plenty of spin. The ball bounced twice and rolled off the back of the green. If you go, go after it rains.

Customer Service

They seemed fine to me. Nice clubhouse and restaurant. Good Service.

Model Reviewed: Forest Hills

Forest Hills is a decent course with a good layout. You can find better courses in Augusta, but Forest Hills is a good course for a good price. The difficulty level is moderate in my opinion and this course is good for beginners to advanced players. It's a very enjoyable course to walk with plenty of nice looking holes. Most every fairway is heavily lined with trees which can be good and bad (good b/c it looks the best, bad b/c if you end up in the woods it's difficult to get out). Overall, I reccomend this course. I have played it many, many times, and have enjoyed every round.

Customer Service

At best- decent, at worst-fairly rude.
The pro shop workers hae never been too nice in my opinion, and it seems as if they could care less about the people coming to play that aren't members.

I am not a member of this club, but the course is my favorite of the ones in Augusta I am eligible to play. (For some reason, the National and the Augusta Country Club have never extended me an invitation.) Besides the history of the course, it's a lot of fun to play. The main obstacles are the slopes of the fairways, large trees, and some multi-level greens; water only comes into play on two par 3 holes. The weekend price is MUCH better after 1PM, and during football season the course is remarkedly uncrowded. The initiation fee I was quoted seemed high to me, but if I was able to play more often, I would probably join. Unless I was really rich; then I'd move to New Zealand.

Customer Service

Not exactly exuberant upon your entry into the proshop, but competent and reasonably friendly. This is The Hill Area of Augusta, after all, and let's face it: the people that live around this course influence the attitudes and behavior of the staff.

Played several times throughout 2002. Decent tract but poor maintenance and regged greens. For the price there are much better courses available in the Augusta area. In fact I think this course is over-priced.

Customer Service

Not exactly rude, but not very accommadating. Get the feeling the course is doing you a favor letting you play there.

I'm a member at this course, but this review is still going to be fair and my honest opinion. This is a top-notch course MOST of the year. In the winter, they overseed the greens and fairways with rye grass, so it is one of the few courses around that is green in the winter. They layout is the best aound, in my opinion. It is challenging, yet forgiving. You can easily get into trouble, however, you can get right back out of it without completely blowing up a round.

Customer Service

Great, tee tiems easy, nice staff
