This course has a nice layout and design. I strongly disagree with whoever said it's the best course in Georgia! It's not even a top 3 course in the lake Oconee area. The course has wider fairways and some holes play very long. The course in my opinion is not all it's cracked up to be. Go play at Reynold's Plantation or Port Armor down the road for a more enjoyable golf outing. I must admit though, the sand traps are quite impressive at Cuscowilla. My jaw dropped when I saw that there are stairs to get into and out of some of the traps. This course is very interesting and different, but I'd rather play something more green and landscaped(just my opinion). If you are looking to play a course that's different from anything else in design, layout, feel, style or style of play....then you should check it out I guess. All in all, it's a good course and is worth playing if you have already played some of the other courses in the area.

My favorite course in GA. Ben Crenshaw designed this course with a minimalist mindset. There aren't allot of flower beds just great golf shots clear through the course- you will hit every kind of shot and every club in your bag. A true test of golf with demanding long shots and crowned greens. Part of the course is on the lake, part goes through open links style and part goes through woodland. The greens are outstanding. Some small, some large depending on the length and difficulty of the hole. And if they have them rolling fast (which they have the five times I've played this course) they are very demanding. The bunkering has a feel of the old country with rough around the edges. This is a golfer’s golf course. Cart path only and caddies are encouraged (the best way to play this course or any course for that matter). I've played with high handicappers on this course and it was a long day for them. Not because of ridiculous carries or out of bounds but because the greens are difficult (but fair). Just a beautiful and natural golf experience.
