Great way to knock the rust off your game in the middle of winter or after a long flight. It is a must play with my wife every time we come to the island, the views, the breeze and the game.

Save on baggage cost, always pack a Sunday bag. Use a folding chair bag (it is long enough and has a strap.) Be sure that everyone has their own putter and a "driver" (3 wood at least). This course as many in Hawaii require bags, but has a decent rider rate for non-players.

Customer Service

Pretty good, it is now run by the Bill Casper Organization.

Had the great pleasure of doing several laps around this hilltop golf haven late last November (2008). As other reviewers have noted, there is exceedingly good value to be had here, the course is in pretty good shape, aloha spirit oozes out of the staff and the driving range and putting green are useful to get one’s ‘eye in’ before the first round. While I was at the range, I saw someone getting a high-tech golf lesson, complete with video camera/PC analysis, etc. Nice to know it’s available. Wonder if I’ll play with as many cell phone-addicted realtors the next time, although perhaps that goes with the island ;)

A great little course to play w/ the kids. The wife and I along w/ the two boys for under $40! This is the kind of ohana operation that helps the keikis learn to love the game w/o breakin' the ol' man's bank. Great scenery, relaxed, homey atmosphere.... As my boys like to say, "Keepin' it real at the Kooks!"

Model Reviewed: Kukuiolono Golf Course

"Best bargain on the island! Play all day for $8.00? Unheard of in Hawaii. The people who work there are friendly and the views are awesome. Renovations are now taking place on the greens, tee boxes and fairways. It will be a terrific course by next year. Play is sometimes slow...lots of newcomers...but the relaxed atmosphere makes it more "homey" than the big money courses. Golfers of all levels can have fun. A must! "

Customer Service

Very Friendly...If you go out of your way, they go out of theirs!

Love the CHICKENS! Course hard as a rock, but great for big drives. Good for ego. Folks friendly. Retirees inhabit during the week, weekends a little slower. Will always come back! Forget Princeville!

Customer Service

Friendly, talkative, homey. Never get this at Poipu or Princeville, maybe a little in Kauai Lagoons.

Practice facilities are predictive of the course. Bucket of balls is a coffee can of balls. If this bothers you...lighten up!

Fun course. And at a good price. Cheap. 7 bucks for fees. 20 bucks more and you have rental clubs and a cart for 18. If you are not on a golfing trip and just want to get in 18 holes (9 hole course) to make all your friends envy you more while on your stay in Kaua'i, then this is the place. Course is not the best but for the price and the island backdrop it is awesome. There are better courses on the island but this was a nice round and you might even get to play with a local like I did! Aloha!

Customer Service

Friendly.

Very inexpensive. Long 9 hole course. Gets a tremendous amount of play. Wide open fairways. Flagsticks are short so distance can be deceiving. Lots of tradewinds in the afternoon. Course plays to weather conditions. The more rain the better. Hole 6 is 165 yard par 3 over canyon, plays more like 300 yards in 60 mph winds. Lots of fun. First come first served.

Customer Service

Friendly homey staff.
