Just down the road from the town of Waimea on Hwy. 19 heading to Hilo. I believe the course is at about 4,000 ft. making for just a bit cooler but beautiful weather. First the bad parts. The course is not in particularly good shape. Conditionwise it is comparable to a muni. Greens are a little chopped up but are still playable. Fairways on the back 9 are a bit thin due to trees. Now the good part. The course has a beautiful layout. There are no two holes that are the same. Lots of diversity making it very worthwhile playing. It has a nice a layout as any golf course on the island and the conditions are not so bad it is not playable. No houses and the course is walkable. It's a beautiful, wonderful course.

This golf course is located north of the
town of Kamuela (Waimea)It's at about 3000
feet above sea level, and close to the ocean. You have an amazing complexity of
weather conditions. It's usually cooler than most Hawaiian golf courses. Sometimes a fog will come in in the AM. This course is not too busy, because it's far enough from the Tourist Kohala coast.
The course was in great shape, grass was thick and green. They are on the rainy
side of Waimea. Most of the holes have nice views. The course is hilly, and there's lots of trees. The course is not difficult,
but very enjoyable. There are coupons in the local paper for a good discount on
the green fees.
I've played Waimea twice, and we will
play it again this month. Good value, cool climate, beautiful course, not crowded.

They have a restaurant, food is good and there's minimal involvement with golfers on the course.
