Very well maintained resort course. The greens were pretty slow, recently punched. My wife really enjoyed this course. This was the best I've played on Maui but I have not played Kapalua or Makena yet. Big Island courses are better value than Maui courses.

I played this course twice and it is by far my favorite course on Maui (I've played 9 courses in all there).

I wrote a detailed review of this course with pictures and video here:

Played the gold course. They have GPS on the carts and it takes away the guessing on club selection. My cousin's husband rented clubs and they gave him Taylor Made RAC OSs with R580xd drivers and woods, their standard set! The club house has a great restaurant and great views. The only course I have been to that sells Tommy Bahama golf shirts! This course wasn't as memorable as Makena next door.

We played the Emerald course. A course that covers up your mistakes -- like a cavity backed club. Lots of fun but challeging. Great course for vacation! Nice oceanviews.

Excellent clubhouse. Staff is great.

I played all three courses:

Blue: rather unmemorable

Gold: The most challenging of the three but the day we played all greenshide bunkers were fenced in as preparation for the Sr. Skins game begins.

Emerald: One of the most fun courses I've played and my favorite in Maui. You feel like you are playing in someone's garden. It looks much more like a Tom Fazio course in its dratic beauty.

Three courses to choose, Blue, Gold and Emerald.

Blue - older of the three. Nice and simple, no surprises. Fairly wide open fairways and tough, undulating greens.

Gold - Cherry. Beautiful views, nice variety in hole layout. Challenging track that offers wide fairways and challenging greens. Remember - grain towards the setting sun!

Emerald - Real Cherry. Of the three my favorite. Long, open fairways. Fairly wide greens with alot of grain and slope. Bump and run approach or target golf - your choice. Alot of the holes call for a variety of shots. Bring your L wedge!

Trees are everywhere on all three. Also, the rock wall's are an "intergral part of the course". No relief! Ouch!

There are three courses at Wailea, Gold, Blue, and Emerald. I played Gold and Emerald on the same day and these are two of the finest course I've ever played. The conditions were excellent, and the views were stunning. The greens are difficult to read, but are in great condition. I would play this course everyday if I had the chance. A must play, you will not be disappointed.
