This course is no longer such a good deal, $60 to walk Mon-Thru. $75 Fri-Sun. Plus $18 per person for the cart. (For off islander)

The course is a decent muni. But not worth that price. So-so conditions. The only true view of ocean is hole 17. Layout is just OK. (Muni) I have seen the starter frequently let out 6 players. Making for very slow rounds.

Showed up on Mon. around noon w/ my 17 year old son. Figured we could get out and walk 18 after the locals had started to finish up their rounds and leave the course open to the mainlanders who wanted to deal w/ the afternoon tradewinds. Checked w/ the pro shop... it's wide open... and that will be $120!! What about a jr. rate for my son? What I say? $60! Stinkeye from the cashier.. no charge. Ended up at Puakea down the road and played after 2pm for $59.99, cart included, jr. plays for free. Don't expect to get any "aloha" at this course... It's for the locals, bruddah, and you ain't one of us! I'm like the previous post... a decent muni hack from the mainland who just wants a fair shake at a reasonably priced round of golf w/ my kid. "Aloha" means "goodbye".

Usually I just play 9 here as a best ball effort with my wife. We used a Sunday Bag approved by the pro shop, then were reported by the local 8-some playing behind us. When the Ranger got 50 feet away he waved us on and turned around.
That said the course is fine but the locals apparently believe tourists should be paying big bucks to play elsewhere..I am a hard working stiff who saves up to come to Hawaii and don't appreciate the lack to golf etiquette displayed by their XXXXXXXX-somes (observed several times at this course)and lame squealing behavior.
The 1st few holes are along the ocean and very picturesque, most of the rest is challenging enough and treed with Palms to make it a fun experience.

Customer Service

This is a slam-bam thank you mame operation. They are fair and fortunately are used to the locals themselves.

Amongst the pricey resort courses on Kauai, this course is a gem. With the prevailing wind off the ocean, it's quite a test. The layout is mostly driver friendly and nailing the approach is required. You'll be looking at a high score if you short side the hole. It's not the most manicured course but for the green fee it's a great value. Playing midweek after 8AM is the best time to get on after the starter have gotten the fast playing locals out.

Customer Service

Starters are a little surly but I have not had a problem despite the demand in play the course gets.

By island standards, this course is considered a goat track. But it beats most anything I play back home in wet and muddy Washington state.

Played at this course on Tuesday July 3 at about 7:45 am. Got there at 6:30 am as a single/walk on. Rented clubs for $27 which was a nice set of Cleveland CG4s, a Halo hybrid, a Hibore 3 wood, and Driver. Nice Cleveland putter and 58 degree DSG wedge. Brand new set for a left hander which was quite surprising since I've played other courses in Hawaii where the rentals were always a little beat up.
Was sent out with two other walk ons. Got sent out so quickly that I didn't have time to use the range. The four important things about this course is that it is in Hawaii, it is on the ocean, the course is beautiful, and it green fees are $32. The
pro shop and clubhouse were nothing to brag about. Very simple, resembling an a 1950's high school gym building. The starter is located in a hut between the driving range and the first tee box. The speaker system is outdated and difficult to hear because it is pointed away from the clubhouse area. The driving range is pointed towards the ocean. Mats are used although it looks like they use the grassy area in front of the mats on occasion. The practice greens accurately duplicate the putting surface on the course. However, the practice greens only have rubber /plastic bumpers instead of holes actually cut into the green. The carts are gas powered and a bit noisy. The main challenge to this course is the length coupled with the winds from the ocean. The course is gently rolling in most parts with doglegs to the right on the front nine and doglegs left on the back nine. There is a fair number of bunkers with that soft red clay dirt in it(stains your clothes and shoes). There are some water hazards on the course other than the ocean, which may come into play. There are quite a few pine trees and other shrubbery(planted to deflect the wind). The pace of play was quick as we completed the course in about 4 hrs. despite the fact that there were 5 somes ahead of us and it was a busy day. Overall a fun and challenging course although I agree with the Golf Digest assessment that this would make a heck of links course if they cut down all of the trees.

Customer Service

All were quite nice and courteous. Note that at the snack shop, golfers take priority over the Jr. Golfers and anyone taking lessons. Just cut in line.

Just like Pacific Grove in Monterey...an absolute steal. You must be able to hit a fade and a draw here. Beautiful course.
I enjoyed it more than Poipu Bay. I played this course with my 10 yr old and it's something I will always remember.

Customer Service

Perfect. Great people.

One of the best values in golf. Lots of course diversity and one of the most beautiful courses around. Lots of oceanfront golf. Conditions are subject to weather. The more rain the better. It is a bermuda grass course like most Hawaiian golf. You can walk this course, but afternoon heat and humidity can make this difficult. Lots of fun.

Customer Service

Friendly staff, Tee times may not be necessary on weekdays
