Don't waist you time. Has great views but
if you want to golf on dirt in 50 mile an
hour winds this is the place.Rented clubs for another $25 so it cost $100 to play.
Couldn't wait to get off the course and out of the wind and off the dirt. If you use a driver run the ball on the ground its your best option--runs straight on the dirt forever

Shoots in the 80s

Sure, the fairways aren't in good condition, and the greens and pretty slow, but considering the cost and views, I'd absolutely recommend this course.

The locals play here for like $7 for 18 holes ($30 for visitors). This course has more coastline holes than any other course on Maui. Also, it's really interesting how the front 9 is flat on the ocean and the back 9 is in the mountains. I've never played a course with such a contrasting front and back 9.

This course is about a 45min-hour drive away from the resort area (specifically Kaanapalli), but worth the drive if you want a cheap, relaxing day playing in the best setting you've ever played.

If you want to play golf in Maui, but can't afford Wailea, Kapalua, or Makena then this is your choice. We were running low on dough after playing Wailea and Makena several times, so drove north to play here. Almost every hole was very scenic here. Course is on the beach! Fairways are wide open. They have to be, because the wind is very very strong and you have to compensate in your shots. Not as well maintained as the courses mentioned above (its a muni). Best value golf on Maui.

Customer Service

THe people are nice and very helpful. The pro shop is good and has many items for sale. The food is not so good.

Shoot in the 80s

Home course. The only muni on the island and the cheapest golf the vistor will find.

Front 9 is along the shore. Relatively flat, very walkable. Nice views. Par 5 4th is reacheable in two (long hitters), and the Par 3 5th is a tough, downhill, crosswind bastard. The 9th is an interesting uphill approach, 3-tiered green.

Back 9 is hilly, with several holes offering uphill approach shots (only the top half of the flag can be seen). Walkable, but tough. Great views of the Ocean and Haleakala. The Par 4 14th is fun, especially if the trades are blowing. You know, a 125 yd, downhill 6 iron into a 4 club wind? Wuhuu!

The fairways are pretty bad, with alot of weeds. The greens are in good shape, but putt a little slow.

Don't eat the sandwiches in the clubhouse - they're notorious for just letting 'em rot. Get a hotdog or burger instead. Better yet - bring your own food, it's safer.

Busy course, so patience is a virtue.

Oh yea, there's a driving range too.
