18 holes - putting green - shady picnic area - incredible views - RV park/campsites - quiet - out-of-the-way - fun for whole family - cheap.

Short - not too challenging (tho if you don't have a short game...) - out-of-the-way - rental clubs in poor condition - small pro-shop.

This is an amazing course set in the wheat/barley/potato fields surrounding Ashton, Idaho. The course is generally short - a few long holes - with incredible views of the Tetons on many. The shade is provided by a beautiful grove of Aspens - hence the name. It's an old family homestead so many of the old farm buildings are still standing and used as part of the course. There is a great area for picnicking and a really beautiful - tho rugged - RV park (basic amenities - electricity - laundry facilities - water - but restrooms are minimal at best.) In short it's a great little course and a lot of fun for the whole family.

It's family-owned and operated and generally staffed by local teens. That said - it's casual - fun - relaxed - friendly.

Cheap, fun for the whole family. Provides you with the opportunity to try your trick-shots...e.g. tee-up on a cow-patty, ricochet off the aspen, off the circle (large sprinker system for agriculture), through the RV, nothing but cup.

Short course. U.S. Open thinks they have rough...try hitting from alfalfa fields!!!

O.K., objectivly this course is fun to take the kids to. If you find yourself in Ashton, ID and feel the need to golf; you better not be expecting much more than a pasture with flags sticking out of the ground. That being said, Aspen Acres is decent for what it is. Green fees are somewhere around $5. You might pull out the driver on one of the holes. Other than that, it''s a pretty short course. Like I said, great to take the kids to. I think that one of the holes is like 50 yards.

Customer Service

If you are at a course like this expecting customer service, you better high-tail it back to California. You won''t notice them. Don''t mind them and they won''t mind you.
