Shoots in the 90s

I played Old Oak this summer after years of avoiding the course due to issues with maintenance and slow play, and I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in good shape and we teed off at 3:30 and made it around in just over 4 hours. There are several memorable holes here, including #5, a downhill par 5 through the trees with a green protected by water, and #6, a long uphill par 3. #'s 11 & 12 are reconfigured/new holes and are a great improvement over what was there before. This is a very mature, scenic course that provides plenty of trouble but will not overwhelm the average golfer. Plus they had a great twilight rate of $28 w/cart on the weekends.

Customer Service

Don't remember any issues so it must have been OK. Nice, good size pro shop.

This course is "Big Run" lite, not nearly as difficult (or expensive) but still providing similar panaromic views and quality.

Shoots in the 90s

My new favorite course in the Chicago area. The overall condition of the course is excellent. The fairways are not chewed up, the greens are fair, nice sand in the traps. Many doglegs left and right make things even more interesting. This course is loaded with trees so shot making is a premium here to score. Very scenic and enjoyable.

Old Oak has emerged as a great course. After years of neglect, ownership has made great improvements and the course is up to par with most others in the area. No longer the cow pasure of the past Old Oak shines with the mature staus it deserves. A great test of the game with good facilities and excellent course conditions. Make sure to play if you have the opportunity.

Shoot in the 90s

Old Oak is a course I use to play years ago on a regular basis. I stopped playing there about 5 years ago because the course was not being maintained and I felt the ownership was just trying to make money! Boy what a pleasant suprise I got when I attended a golf outing last month at the old course! It brought a tear to my eye to see the inprovements made to the course. I highly recommend that you give this course a look, it is now in great shape and a wonderful place to play a round of golf amist the mature trees and rolling terrain.

Shoot in the 100s

Caveat: this is my home course where I play every week so take comments in stride. I think Old Oak is an underrated course. Apparently it had a rep before the sprinkler system was installed as being a cow pasture. It isn't. Course is in generally good shape and plays well. Two different courses from the Blue and Gold (back) tees. I would like to see a fourth set of tees; they have enough boxes to do it.

Go try the course for yourself; you will be plesantly surprised.
